By chance we came across this family-run winery – and what a stroke of luck that was! Actually, only a tour in Italian was offered on this day. On site, however, they spontaneously organized a private tour in English exclusively for us. We were thrilled by the warmth, hospitality, and the palpable passion for the history and the work of the winery. The tasting of the various Franciacorta and VSQ wines was a real highlight, accompanied by a lovingly arranged and delicious snack platter. On Friday, May 29th, my wife and I participated in a tasting of 6 wines at the HOFFMANN winery. The way the tasting was organized was remarkable. We were not given 6 set wines, but could each choose 6 wines for ourselves from an extremely extensive list. A list of 4 semi-dry wines, 4 sweet/fruity wines, and 11 dry wines. In addition, it was also possible to taste a very special red wine aged in wood. So in total, we could choose from 20 wines. After making our selection, we were each served 6 generous glasses, after which we had enough time to conduct our own tasting (tasting each other's, making comments, taking notes, etc.). Our conclusion was that the chosen wines were very different from each other and of excellent quality. Two red wines in particular, the Barrique 2020 and the Unikat-C 2020, were even exceptionally good. This led to the purchase of a few bottles. Arkenbout Family

Bosca's "Underground Cathedrals visit and tasting" is a solid tasting. At the end of the tour, three selected Spumante are offered for tasting, two of which are of the rather cheaper variety. Unfortunately, the tour places too little focus on the impressive architecture and history of the cathedrals. Those who are particularly interested in the architecture and the atmosphere could be somewhat disappointed here, not least because of the not-so-cheap fee.
