Panoramic Wine Tasting with Olive Oil at Cacciagrande in Castiglione della Pescaia

Just 10 km from Castiglione della Pescaia, Cacciagrande welcomes you into the Mediterranean landscape of the Tuscan Maremma for a tasting led by a member of the estate’s hospitality team.

The experience is built around six Maremma Toscana DOC wines, moving from white and rosé expressions to three distinctive reds. You begin with Vermentino Maremma Toscana DOC, a fresh white shaped by the influence of the nearby coast, followed by Viognier Maremma Toscana DOC Bianco, a fuller white with an expressive fruit character. Rosah Maremma Toscana DOC Rosé, made from Syrah, introduces the rosé side of the estate with a fresh, lively profile.

The red wines then show three different interpretations of the Maremma. Maremma Toscana DOC Rosso, a blend of Sangiovese, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon, is fresh and approachable; Cortigliano Maremma Toscana DOC Syrah brings greater depth and a gentle touch of oak; and Castiglione Maremma Toscana DOC Petit Verdot, made entirely from Petit Verdot, closes the sequence with a more structured and powerful expression.

The wines are served with bread, Cacciagrande’s own Tuscan PGI extra virgin olive oil and its must-based condiments. Depending on the weather, the tasting takes place in the air-conditioned tasting room or outdoors in the garden overlooking the Mediterranean hills. Before or after the tasting, you can also take a short self-guided walk through the vineyards, and at the end there is the option to taste the estate’s grappa.
