Garganega Vertical Tasting & Local Pairings at Corte Quaiara near Lake Garda
Here is what's in store for you
At Corte Quaiara, near Lake Garda, you will be welcomed by either Viviana, who manages client relations, or by the owner, Giovanni. This tasting is a deep dive into Garganega, the great age-worthy white grape of the Veneto, exploring how it evolves with time and winemaking style.
Your visit begins in the vineyard before moving through the vinification cellar and the barrel room, where the estate uses both traditional barrels and amphorae for aging. In the dedicated tasting room, you will experience a guided tasting of four Garganega wines, structured as two mini-verticals. You'll compare two vintages ('16 and '21) of Garganega vinified in steel against two vintages ('20 and '21) of a version made with extended skin contact in amphorae.
This side-by-side comparison reveals two different interpretations of the same grape, highlighting the impact of both aging and vinification method. The wines are paired with a selection of products from Northern Italy: coppa, pancetta, and soppressa, alongside cheeses like fresh goat cheese, matured cow's-milk cheeses, and a blue cheese.
