Ugolini Wine Tasting at Villa San Michele in Valpolicella

Your experience at Tenute Ugolini begins with a guided tour of Villa San Michele, a recently restored historic country residence. Qualified winery staff, the winemaker or one of the owners will lead you through the villa’s historic rooms and into the Map Room, where you will receive an introduction to the history and geography of Valpolicella. 

The visit continues with a guided tasting focused on the estate’s single-vineyard wines. You will taste four red wines, presented from lighter to fuller-bodied, that showcase different expressions of the Valpolicella terroir:

- Pozzetto - Valpolicella Classico
- San Michele - Valpolicella Superiore
- Monte Solane - Valpolicella Ripasso
- Valle Alta - Amarone della Valpolicella.

The wines are served with a platter of local specialties, including Guanciale Mangalica, Salame della Valpolicella, citrus-flavored lonza, Gugole Dolce cheese, orange-and-pepper cheese, aged Monte d’Allevo, and cow’s-milk Fossa cheese.

During summer, the tasting is held on the outdoor patio; in winter or in case of bad weather, it moves to one of the estate’s indoor tasting rooms. Children are welcome and will be served the same food platter as adults, as specific non-alcoholic beverages or alternative products are not available.
