Vertical Obardi Wine Tasting with Charcuterie at Corte Quaiara in Sona
Here is what's in store for you
Your experience at Corte Quaiara, near Lake Garda, will be personally hosted by owner Giovanni or by Viviana, who manages private client relations. The visit begins in the vineyard, where you'll learn about a wine born not from blending in the cellar, but directly from the soil.
This wine is Obardi, a tribute to Antonio Obardi, a historic winegrower whose intuition left a lasting mark on the estate. It's a field blend, meaning its four grape varieties—Syrah, Petit Verdot, Teroldego, and Merlot—are harvested and fermented together in a single vinification. This process allows nature to shape the wine's complexity from the start.
The tour continues through the vinification cellar and the barrel room, where you will see both traditional barrels and terracotta amphorae used for aging. In case of bad weather, the vineyard portion is replaced with an indoor explanation of the terroir and viticulture.
The experience culminates in the dedicated tasting room with a vertical tasting of Obardi IGP Verona Rosso. By tasting four distinct vintages side-by-sid (2013, 2015, 2016, and 2018) you can follow the evolution of this cuvée over time. The wines are served with a board of products from Northern Italy, including coppa, pancetta, and soppressa, alongside fresh goat cheese, aged cow's-milk cheeses, and a blue cheese.
