Valpolicella Wine Tasting with Museum Visit at Mazzi in Negrar
Here is what's in store for you
Your experience at Roberto Mazzi e Figli, a family winery with roots in Valpolicella dating back to 1900, begins with a visit to the on-site Milling Art Museum. You will then be guided through the production and aging cellars to understand the winemaking process.
The visit is hosted by owner Antonio Mazzi or by sommelier and hospitality manager Marianna Andreoli. They will lead you to the tasting room, located in the family's former 19th-century home, for a seated tasting of wines that represent the region.
You will taste four labels: Valpolicella Classico Superiore DOC Sanperetto, Valpolicella Classico Superiore DOC Poiega, Amarone della Valpolicella Classico DOCG, and Recioto della Valpolicella Classico DOCG. During the spring and autumn high season, a fifth wine, the Valpolicella Classico DOC, may be added to the lineup. The tasting is paired with taralli, bread with the estate's olive oil, and a selection of small bites. Depending on availability, these may include lard pâté, cheese, salami, or vegetable spreads. A chocolate treat concludes the tasting. For participants under the legal drinking age, blueberry juice or water is provided.
