Dalmatian Wine Heritage Tasting at Konoba Bratanić in Hvar
Here is what's in store for you
Your visit to Konoba Bratanić begins in the basement of a traditional Dalmatian stone house, a historic winemaking museum with protected cultural heritage status. Here, one of the owners or a member of the Bratanić family will guide you through generations of island life with personal stories.
Inside the cellar, you'll see preserved barrels and historic winemaking tools that show how winegrowing shaped the lives of local families. The family’s storytelling is at the heart of the experience, offering a direct insight into Dalmatian culture and the traditions the museum works to preserve, including the vineyards of the UNESCO-listed Stari Grad Plain.
The tour is accompanied by a tasting of four wines from local Hvar wineries: a Plavac Mali rosé, a Pošip white, a Plavac Mali red, and a sweet Muscat dessert wine. The wines are served with prosciutto, sheep milk cheese, and bread, introducing you to the island’s producers while complementing the stories of its past.
