Five-Stage Wine Tasting with Food Pairing at La Guarda in Muscoline

Near the shores of Lake Garda, your experience at the La Guarda family estate begins with a welcome from one of the family members. Depending on availability, your host may be Luigi Negri, owner and vineyard and cellar manager; his son Pietro, who works alongside him in the vineyard and cellar; or Francesca Bodei, owner and hospitality manager.

Your visit starts with a tour of the cellar and production areas, where you will learn how the family's philosophy and the area's traditions shape every bottle they produce.

The tasting itself is a three-hour journey structured in five stages. At each stage, you will choose one of two wines, tailoring the experience to your palate. The selection includes:
• Stage 1: A Blanc or Rosé sparkling wine (Martinotti Method).
• Stage 2: Riviera del Garda Classico Chiaretto or Rismì, a still white.
• Stage 3: Riviera del Garda Classico Groppello or Merlot IGT.
• Stage 4: Riserva IGT Sangiovese or Marzemino.
• Stage 5: Inchino (a Groppello Chinato) or Passito di Sangiovese.

Your five selected wines are accompanied by a platter of local products featuring La Guarda’s artisanal preserves, warm homemade focaccia, bread with the estate’s extra virgin olive oil, and a selection of cured meats and cheeses. As the winery works with small local producers, the selection varies according to availability and may include young or aged raw-milk cheeses made from goat’s or cow’s milk, alongside salami, pancetta, coppa, fiocco, bresaola, or speciality salami made with fillet or guanciale.

Younger participants receive a dedicated platter with fruit juice. The tasting is held in the winery's dedicated tasting room or, in warmer months, under the covered portico overlooking the garden.
