Winery Tour and Wine Tasting at Montecariano di Gini in Valpolicella

Discover the rich heritage of Valpolicella with an immersive wine experience at Montecariano di Gini.

Your visit starts with an enriching walk through the picturesque vineyards, where you'll learn about the unique grape varieties of Valpolicella.

Following the vineyard walk, you'll dive into the fascinating world of winemaking with a tour of the estate's state-of-the-art winery and atmospheric barrique cellar, where you'll witness the meticulous processes that transform grapes into exceptional wines. You'll also have the opportunity to taste the Amandorlato wine straight from the caratello, a traditional small barrel.

The tasting is led by Marco and Matteo Galtarossa, owners of Montecariano — Marco as winemaker and Italian sales lead, Matteo overseeing international sales. Should both be unavailable, winemaker Pietro Babini will be happy to guide you through the tasting instead.

You'll conclude your visit with a tasting of four of the estate's finest wines, typically including:

If you have specific preferences, Marco and Matteo are always happy to include other labels from the range, such as IGT Cabernet Sauvignon, IGT Amandorlato, or IGT Mr Nobody — every effort is made to tailor the tasting to your taste.

The base tasting is paired with grissini and taralli, while the extended experience includes a light lunch of local cured meats and cheeses. Gluten-free products are available for celiac guests, and vegetarian guests will be offered a richer selection of cheeses.
