Mortimers WineFormer Canterbury Bankstown Bulldog Peter Mortimer, his wife Julie and their five sons, Michael, James, Tim, Daniel and Robbie planted Chestnut Garth Vineyard to 1 hectare of Chardonnay grapes in 1996. The following year a further 1.2 hectares of Shiraz and 1 hectare of Cabernet Sauvignon were added. More recently a small area of Pinot Noir and Merlot was planted. They source Sauvignon Blanc from a neighbouring vineyard. Chestnut Garth vineyard is named after a quiet avenue in the rural Humberside village of Burton Pidsea in the UK where Peter played Rugby League for Hull Kingston Rovers in 1987. The original street sign is "on loan" and adorns the entrance to Chestnut Garth Vineyard at 786 Burrendong Way Orange in New South Wales.

Grove Estate Wines Young is in the heart of the Hilltops. The Hilltops has become one the greatest wine grape growing regions in Australia over the past 20 years. In the last 5 years wines from the Hilltops including grapes from the Grove Estate vineyards have won such prestigious awards as the "Jimmy Watson" trophy in 2010, and as recently as 2014 the Finest Shiraz in Australia in the great Australian Shiraz Tasting. Grove Estate's 35 Hectares of vineyards make up just part of the Grove Estate story. The Kirkwood's, Flanders and Mullany's (The Partners of Grove Estate) also own another 55 Hectares of vineyards that supply the Grove Estate label. Mark and Vickie Flanders have vineyard adjoining Grove Estate on the Murringo Road. Peter and Suzanne Kirkwood have Shiraz less then a Kilometre from Grove Estate and Brian and Suellen Mullany have Cabernet, Barbera and Sangiovese in the same area. Brian and Suellen along with Michelle and Vince Fernon (Brian's sister and brother in Law) have another 30 Hectares around 10 Kilometres from Grove Estate towards the small village of Wombat. This diversification of sites and soil types along withbthe unique micro climates on each vineyard allows for a great ability to produce a diverse style of wines from the one GI (Geographical Identification Area). This together with the huge range of varieties that we grow including Nebbiolo, Zinfandel, Barbera, Sangiovese, Viognier, ........... make Grove Estate a really exciting Wine company.

Krinklewood VineyardWe (Rod and Suzanne Windrim) planted our first vines on our first Hunter Valley property in 1981. In 1997 we moved to a picturesque property in Broke Fordwich and planted a much larger 48 acre vineyard. We completed courses in wine processing and viticulture at Kurri Kurri Tafe and later attended a Rudolph Steiner Agriculture course. This course was hugely influential and impacted immediately on our overall approach to viticulture and farming. By early 2002, we were fully committed to Biodynamics and commenced to manage our farm organically and biodynamically. Krinklewood Vineyard became fully certified biodynamic by 2007. Krinklewood is a family owned boutique Hunter Valley winery and vineyard in which every member of the family contributes significantly. We, together with our great team of vineyard and cellar door staff, are all committed and ‘hands on’ in the daily biodynamic operations of the vineyard and farm and delight in the fact that ‘what you put in is what you get back’. Our unique logo is somewhat a tribute to our beloved Limousin cattle. Prior to the vineyard being planted, Krinklewood Biodynamic Vineyard was home to more than 60 Limousin cattle. Gradually the herd has been reduced to make room for the vines, but the remaining herd still roam freely and contribute significantly to our biodynamic farming practices. This striking breed of cattle originate from the Limoge province in France where an ancient cave painting depicting the bulls gave inspiration for the Krinklewood logo.

Stanton & Killeen WinesThe Stanton family, originally from Suffolk in England, worked hard to establish a vineyard with many setbacks such as phylloxera, drought and the Depression. Norman Killeen married Jack Stanton’s daughter, Joan and in 1954 gave birth to 6th generation winemaker Chris Killeen. In 1968 the business name was changed to ‘Stanton and Killeen Wines’ and thus started a new phase in the history of the winery. Today the business is owned and managed by Chris Killeen’s wife Wendy and their children Simon and Natasha. Simon has studied a Bachelor of Wine Science at Charles Sturt University in Wagga Wagga and Natasha is studying a Master of Wine Business through the University of Adelaide.

Burnbrae Winery And VineyardBurnbrae Vineyards have had several owners during its life time however in 1968 Allan Ellis and his wife Joyce took over Burnbrae and farmed the land, selling to the Turisse family who planted grapes in 1971. Wine production began in 1976 in an open-air winery situated under the shady peppercorn trees. The name Burnbrae means “the field sloping down to a stream” which describes the picturesque location. The Turisse’s planted about 20 acres of Black Muscats. A few years later they planted Shiraz and Cabernet Sauvignon. They originally made the wine for personal use and sold table grapes and wine grapes to the markets. A fully functional winery started to be developed in the 90’s and has progressively been added to over the years. The winery can now produce over 180 Tonnes a year. The original well developed and cared for grapes continue to flourish within the vineyard; with the addition over the years of Merlot and Chardonnay grapes.

Bunnamagoo WinesThe historic homestead and 5,000 acres of prime grazing land at the Bunnamagoo Estate lie between Bathurst and Oberon; the other Paspaley vineyard is at Eurunderee, in the Mudgee district, 200 kilometres away. This Central Tablelands area of New South Wales was chosen as the site for some of the earliest vineyards in the colony including the first plantings of chardonnay by Adam Roth in 1858 on land which now forms part of the Eurunderee vineyard. It is hardly surprising that the area has found its place among the best wine regions of Australia and was chosen as the site of the Bunnamagoo winery and cellar door. The Bunnamagoo vineyard at Rockley has that rarity in Australia: a genuinely cool climate. Its elevation of 880 metres makes it regularly colder than Tasmania. The vines have a long and beneficial period of winter dormancy followed by generally dry summers with long hot days and cool nights ensuring even ripening of the fruit. Its soils are deep volcanic basalts. The conditions bring great complexity to the wine. Cold weather clarifies and formalizes the attributes of a vintage, making subtleties more elegant and penetrating, while warmth produces generosity, roundness and openness. The combination of these qualities results in truly memorable wine.

Chambers Rosewood Winery

All Saints EstateAll Saints Estate is a family owned winery established in 1864 and located on the banks of the Murray River in Wahgunyah, North East Victoria. Original owners George Sutherland Smith, and John Banks, arrived from Caithness, Scotland in 1852. They were just 23 and 20 years of age. Choosing to settle in the Wahgunyah area, they used their training as engineers from the Edinburgh Railway Institute to build a bridge over the Edwards River at Deniliquin. They were also involved in the construction of several buildings in Beechworth including the Presbyterian Church, part of the Gaol and the original hospital of which the granite facade still remains today. Smith and Banks began growing vines at ‘Sunday Creek’ closer to Wahgunyah than the present All Saints Estate winery, before relocating to build the 'All Saints castle' just three miles north of Wahgunyah, in 1864. The partners took up 100 acres and proceeded with planting vines in earnest whilst also constructing pise cellars made from the estate soil.
