5 A hidden gem in Piedmont (Robert)My wife and I stayed one night at Cantina Fontechiara and absolutely loved it. The atmosphere was cozy and welcoming, with a charming family-run feel that made us feel right at home. The building has been beautifully renovated—modern where it counts but still retaining its rustic charm. The highlight of our stay was the wine tasting. It was both educational and engaging, with delicious local wines accompanied by generous and tasty snacks. In the morning, we were treated to a wonderful breakfast with fresh, high-quality products. We only wish we could have stayed longer. Highly recommended for anyone looking for an authentic and relaxing wine country experience.

5 Wine tasting (Stephen)The winery whilst small in production, provided a fantastic experience of a tour of the cellar, introduction to all the wines and products that they sell and the actual tasting of several wines with different foods, including horse and donkey cured meats which were delicous. The hosts were informative and attentive and what made it unique, for me, was that they accepted solo travelers for bookings, something others do not cater for.

5 Tom and Kitley (Kitley)Wow. It was wonderful. Our guide to the tour was sooo great. We had a great time. The only issue for us was that we bought the wax candle holders and the ones we were shown were an autumn color and when we got home and opened them they were white. Please tell people that. Otherwise we loved it!!

5 A tasting to do again (Eleonora)The owner was very helpful in answering all the questions. She explained everything in a clear and easily understandable way, even for those who are not familiar with the terms. She was open to small variations on the menu during the tasting. Excellent experience.

4 Visit to Fontanachiara (Fulvio)Very interesting experience. You can see that the person who assisted us during the visit is passionate about what he does and what he has created. The prices of the wines they offer are a little high.

4 Visit to Fontechiara (Federica)A small, young winery, but very nice and well-organized. It starts with a short tour of the labs/cellar and then you move to the room dedicated to the tastings. There are various tasting packages, depending on how many wines you want to taste, accompanied by local products. Wines explained very well by the owner. Besides the wines, you can also find products made with the waste from the must. A very nice idea for a different kind of outing.

5 Small winery, big character (Francesco)Fontechiara is a small family-run winery, but it offers a remarkable variety of wines, all crafted with the utmost attention to detail. During the visit we participated in a pleasant tasting, accompanied by samples of local products like cured meats and cheeses, of excellent quality and perfectly paired with the wines. Among the bottles offered, I also chose to buy an ancestral method wine, which I haven't tasted yet but which shows great promise. What particularly struck me was also the presence of a craft beer made with grape pomace, really interesting for those who love the crossover between the brewing and winemaking worlds. The atmosphere is warm, welcoming, and authentic: you can feel the passion and pride for their work. A recommended stop for those who want to have a genuine experience in the heart of the region.

5 Very nice tasting (Francesca)Very nice tasting. Our voucher included the winery tour and a tasting of 3 wines accompanied by small platters. Overall we had a good time, it is a small family-run winery, interesting wines, very nice that they also use the grapes for the production of other products like pasta, cosmetics and jams.
