5 Wine tasting and tour (Melissa)We had a great tour at Casa lata. Our tour guide Sara was very knowledgeable on the wine, making process and the grapes of the region. Beautiful location and it has a boutique hotel. Private tasting room was beautiful and the wines were delicious as were the charcuterie.

5 Brilliant and interesting tour with helpful guides and brilliant unique wines (Thomas)We booked this only the day before as we were stuck for things to do in Braga, and found this vineyard tour a 20 min car journey away. Upon arriving, we met our engaging, friendly and helpful guide Xavier, who gave us each two welcome drinks. Throughout the whole visit he was brilliant at answering our questions and describing the wine making process. We chose this tour in particular due to the opportunity to walk around the vineyards, but we were not expecting to be able to see the Apple and kiwi trees, which added great diversity to the visit. When we returned, we looked round the warehouse area to learn about this vineyard’s unique wine making techniques and then were treated to Portuguese ham, cheese, bread, and olive oil made at the vineyard. Xavier then showed us the four premier wines they offer (2 white, 1 red, 1 sparkling) and even let us try a new bottle of white which hadn’t yet even been labelled. What’s special about this vineyard is that they specialise in “vinho verde”, and so in contrast to the heavier wines from the Douro valley, they offer lighter, more summery wines like no other in the world due to the environmental conditions. Lastly, Xavier generously gave us a free bottle of wine, and we were then able to buy some of the wine we had been trying. All in all we left with 7 bottles for only €28, yet the wine tasted incredibly premium. We would thoroughly recommend this tour of this unique family business: whether it’s for beginners in wine (like we were, having some of our first white wine) or wine experts, as were the other couple who joined us on our tour.

4 Excellent wine tasting with below-average outsourced lunch (Claire)We booked a "Wine Tasting & Regional Meal at Quinta de Santa Cristina" package. To start with the good - After the lunch we went to the winery and had an AMAZING time, it did not disappoint. I wish that we had booked only the wine tasting, I even would have paid the same price to not have the local lunch. The information that our guide Sofia gave us was very in depth and she explained it so well and made us feel very welcome as she explained about the processes, the different grapes and the history of the wineyard and the family. The tasting itself was fantastic and we were given a small charcuterie board which was already much better than the local lunch. We tried 4 wines which were delicious, and we did not feel pressured to buy any wines directly. It was around a 1 hour drive from where we were staying in Braga and easy to navigate to as well as to park. If the review was only for the winery I would have given it 5 stars. The less good - The pre-booking was quite confusing as it was advertised as 3 hours, however the timings of the local lunch were not well factored into this, and in fact our lunch was at 1pm with the tasting from 3pm onwards. The local lunch was quite disappointing, from arriving at the restaurant we already felt we were an inconvience to the staff at the restaurant, and the food was not to our taste. We wanted to try the more local specialities but were disappointed with both the starter and the main, the octopus was quite mushy as if it had been frozen and quickly defrosted and the dessert as well of chocolate mousse was not good.

5 Absolutely Fantastic Experience - Private and so fun (Robin)We were staying in Braga and just a short distance away is this wonderful family owned Winery that we just had to try. Our experience was wonderful! Private for just the 4 of us. Toured the workings of the winery and then had the tasting. She offered a great charcuterie board and we tasted 4+ wines. Most of their wine is sold only in Portugal so it was great to really experience a true, small, family owned winery. We of course purchased quite a few bottles of wine for the rest of our trip and enjoyed every one - white, red and bubbly. Don't miss this. You won't regret it!
