5 Personalized wine tasting with a knowledgeable guide (Monica)The two of us were looking for a wine tasting opportunity in Bacharach on short notice, as we were only staying there for two nights. We booked the tasting late in the evening and were anxious to see if it would be confirmed, since we wanted the tasting for the very next day at 2 PM. It was confirmed. At 2 p.m., we were met by Linda, our wine guide. She asked us what kind of wine we liked and based the tasting on that. We were served the wines in pairs to make it easier to compare them, and she told us about the wines, how the grapes are grown, and why the grapes produce such distinct flavors. After nearly an hour, the tasting concluded, and she asked us what we were looking for during our visit to the Rhine Valley. She then gave us a couple of excellent recommendations for places to visit—and explained why. We have now left the Rhine Valley and would like to thank Linda for a wonderful wine-tasting experience and, not least, for the great recommendations regarding castles we should visit. Everything was top-notch!

5 Informative and fun (Peter)The Justs provided a friendly and highly informative explanation of the nature and production of their wines. No question was too simple and all delivered with good humour and excellent English for the lazy foreigner. The Just wine selection is top drawer and so tasting them was a delight.

5 Learned So Much! Highly Recommend (Clint & Lynne )We learned a lot about the specific microclimates within a few kilometres including proximity to the Rhein, winds, slope , geology and latitude. We learned the Toni Jody family has been growing grapes and making wine for over 200+ years. We tried four riesling varieties and two red varieties (Spärburgunder) . Each came with a specific reason for its unique taste. I especially liked learning about an unexpected red wine (rotwein) the family has made in the German tradition to have the taste not influenced by wood. We found it good value for 1 1/2 hours $40 .

5 Terrific tasting in the Mittelrhein (Anupam)Our tasting at Weingut Toni Just in the beautiful wine town of Bacharach on the Rhine river, was amazing. Cecilia Jost, the young winemaker, and grand-daughter of Toni, was our enthusiastic host, in the intimate tasting room. We tasted a range of high-quality (VDP) Rieslings from the excellent Hahn vinyards, in a range of styles including dry, off-dry, and sweeter auslese. The wines are terrific value for money as well. Cecilia kindly dropped us off at the local Posthof restaurant for lunch afterwords. We made our booking through Winedering, which was convenient, and helpfully in English. .

5 Tailored Bacharach Wine Experience (Margaret & Mark)Peter’s knowledge of every aspect of wine growing in the region was truly impressive. Rarely have we learned so much about a particular wine style (ie Middle Rhine styles) at a cellar door anywhere in the world. 5 A Special Session (Julian)The wine tasting at Weingut Toni Jost was my first stop after arriving in Germany, and it was a pleasant surprise that I was the only individual that had signed up at that particular session. The owner - a very friendly lady whose name I have regrettably forgotten - catered the session to me and was very detailed in explaining the context and background of these wines. 5 Amazing (Dina)The wine experience we had recently far exceeded any expectations. We were running late due to traffic and they were extremely accommodating. The entire family greeted us and served us really delicious food and bread along with some starter wines. The tastings were all delicious and they gave us a good amount of detail on each. They then took us to their vineyards for some truly amazing views of the Rhine with more wine and food to enjoy from the view points. The family was so nice and hospitable and created a memorable experience that I can’t say enough about! It was the perfect tour for my family!!

We were welcomed with kindness by the owners and tasted excellent Rieslings, and each tasting was accompanied by explanations (even in Italian!) to help us better appreciate the different characteristics of the wines. 5 Wijn proeverij (Gerben)Voor een niet Wijnkenner/liefhebber, samen met mijn vriendin die wél van een wijntje houdt een proeverij van Rita gehad. Het was naast informatief ook een geke gezellige wijn proeverij. Ik was verbaasd, van wat de invloeden van het klimaat zoal de smaak van de wijn bepalen. 5 generaties zijn op deze plek al bezig wijn te maken én net succes. Na het proeven én kopen van een aantal wijnen, zijn we net ern erg fijn gevoel weer vertrokken. Bedankt Rits
