Winery in Montalcino, Val d'Orcia, Crete Senesi

About the Winery

The ATRIVM farm is located in the town of San Giovanni d'Asso, adjacent to the Brunello's territory, in the province of Montalcino. The farm was built on the ruins of a medieval hamlet and has always been dedicated to the cultivation of vines and the production of wine. The farm has a territory of 100.000 m², of which 30.000 are dedicated to DOC Orcia vineyards and 20.000 to olive groves. This area is also dotted with colorful beehives for beekeeping. In the sixties, the farm was among the first wineries to test the use of row vines for the vineyard, thanks to grandfather Argante's ability to combine the centennial local tradition and innovative viticultural theories. Another of Argante's merits was to pass on his passion for the land to his sons and grandsons, above all Emilio, the current manager: after graduating, at the end of an education based on enology, agronomy, zootechnics, biology and chemistry, he decided to apply his theoretical knowledge to manage the farm and to succeed, like his grandfather, in improving it without undermining the quality of the products.

About the Wines

The farm produces DOC Orcia red wine, IGT Toscana Asso red wine, IGT Toscana red table wine, IGT Toscana white table wine, IGT Toscana Rosatrivm rosé wine, Vinsanto, Grappa, Bulles sparkling rosé wine, extra virgin olive oil, honey.

A hardworking family
In our opinion.
They should dedicate themselves only to producing their wine.
They should stop doing the tastings.
Very good intention and kindness.
But right now they are not prepared to conduct them.
Thanks for their kindness and friendliness.

To do again
Fantastic experience at Cantina Atrium! Incredible atmosphere, very knowledgeable and professional staff who know how to convey the passion for their work. In addition, the quality-price ratio is unbeatable for the area. If you pass through Val d'Orcia, you can't miss it.

Discovering a local reality!
The wine tasting experience was the experience that made our vacation more authentic. The experience began with a warm welcome from the gentlemen of the vineyard who then accompanied us to get to know the agricultural reality of the place. They told us how wine production works, from step 1 of the process all the way to bottling. The gentleman was very willing to explain to us how agriculture works there, also telling us about the olives and honey. The visit then continued in the fermentation cellar. What made the experience beautiful, besides the good wine and the delicious tasting of local products and the spectacular view, was the company. We spent an excellent evening with laughter and chatter. An experience I would recommend to anyone who wants a "taste" of the reality of Val d'Orcia!

Courtesy and hospitality
Very positive experience, the lady who welcomed us showed us the various production processes; then she had us sit at the table where we could taste 4 excellent wines of their production, accompanied by quality cheeses and cured meats.

Visiting a winery
As we arrived, we were welcomed by Mrs. Sonia with her smile and Mr. Roberto, a fantastic person. We immediately felt at ease. Mr. Roberto was our guide. With his simplicity, he made us part of his daily life. The visit concluded with an excellent snack of cold cuts, cheeses and honey, all with excellent wine. I recommend this experience to all those who are looking for simplicity.

Wonderful experience!
We arrived and in that time slot it was just us.
A family-run farm.
They welcomed us with simplicity, friendliness and professionalism.
Unfortunately the vineyard was recovering from a week of rain, but the experience in the cellar and the detailed explanations of the production process were still very interesting.
We tasted 4 types of wine and a very rich platter of local cold cuts and cheeses.
Considering the season, the experience went beyond our expectations.
Well done!
