About Winery and Wines

Azienda Agricola Gorgo, a family-run winery, was established in 1975 by Alberta and Roberto Bricolo. Located between Verona and Lake Garda, the estate has been producing wines that capture the essence of the Veneto region. Roberto and Alberta pursued their dream of winemaking, leaving behind their family businesses to devote themselves to the creation of their winery. With Alberta's elegance and Roberto's imagination, they expanded their wine offerings locally and internationally while pioneering the concept of modern hospitality by opening their cellar to visitors.

Now under the leadership of their daughter, Roberta Bricolo, the winery continues to thrive. Roberta has upheld the values of passion, tradition, and innovation that her parents embodied, ensuring that Gorgo wines maintain their reputation for quality. The estate focuses on producing classic wines from local varieties, including Custoza, Bardolino, and Chiaretto, combining sustainable practices with a deep respect for the region's winemaking history. The Gorgo estate also places great emphasis on welcoming visitors, offering them an immersive experience that blends wine, history, and hospitality.

Azienda Agricola Gorgo, founded in 1973, is located on the morainic hills of Custoza in the Veneto region. Spanning 53 hectares, all certified organic, the estate is dedicated to producing high-quality wines while maintaining a deep respect for the environment. The winery, known for its sustainable and eco-friendly practices, avoids the use of synthetic chemicals and promotes biodiversity through natural fertilizers, pest control methods, and resource optimization. Their wines reflect the authentic characteristics of the local terroir, expressing a unique harmony between nature and winemaking tradition.

In 2005 and 2015, the winery underwent expansions and restorations, ensuring that both the vinification cellar and guest accommodations reflect the company’s dedication to quality and sustainability. The Gorgo estate produces a range of wines including Custoza, Bardolino, Chiaretto, and others, utilizing a sustainable approach from vineyard to bottle. Organic vine cultivation results in grapes that are grown with respect for the land and the environment, producing wines that are a pure expression of the climate, territory, and native grape varieties.

Organic farming at Gorgo means carefully managing the vineyard ecosystem to foster balance, using green manure techniques to maintain soil fertility, planting native vegetation to support biodiversity, and employing natural pest control methods like copper, sulfur, and plant extracts. The company also utilizes biological methods, such as introducing antagonistic organisms to combat parasites. Gorgo’s eco-conscious approach extends beyond viticulture, as the winery employs sustainable packaging, including biodegradable vine ties and FSC-certified labels, as well as recycled paper for their cardboard.

The estate’s commitment to sustainability ensures that its wines, crafted without the use of GMOs, pesticides, or synthetic chemicals, reflect the natural flavors and aromas of the vineyard. Gorgo’s wines are a true testament to the rich history and unique terroir of the Veneto region, embodying both tradition and modern eco-friendly practices.
