Winery in Colli Orientali, Friuli Grave

About the Winery

Vigneti Micossi is a historic winery rooted in the traditions of the Friuli region, with a legacy that dates back to the early 1900s. Originally established by the Micossi family, the winery expanded in the 1970s to include a "Frasca"—a cozy place where locals could not only buy wine but also enjoy a drink and a slice of salami or cheese in good company. During this time, Walter Micossi, the grandson of the original founder, took over the management of the cellar, enhancing production and beginning to market the wines more widely. Today, the winery is under the stewardship of Walter's son, Alessandro, who continues the family tradition with the same dedication and passion. Nestled in the picturesque landscape of Friuli, Vigneti Micossi offers visitors an authentic experience, blending history, culture, and the timeless art of winemaking.

About the Wines

Vigneti Micossi produces a diverse range of wines that showcase the unique terroir of Friuli, known for its rich soils and ideal climate. Our selection of white wines includes the classic Friulano, a dry and crisp wine that captures the essence of the region. For those who prefer sparkling wines, we offer Ribolla Gialla, a lively and refreshing choice with fine bubbles. Sweet wine enthusiasts can indulge in our Ramandolo, Picolit, and Verduzzo, each offering a rich and nuanced expression of Friuli's traditional dessert wines.

Our red wines are equally distinctive, featuring varietals such as Refosco Peduncolo Rosso, known for its deep color and robust flavor, and Cabernet Franc, which offers a balanced, medium-bodied profile. We also produce Franconia and Schioppettino, both of which are beloved for their unique characteristics and complex aromas. Each wine at Vigneti Micossi is crafted with care, reflecting the family's commitment to quality and the rich winemaking heritage of Friuli. Whether you are exploring our whites, reds, or sparkling options, our wines promise to deliver an authentic taste of this exceptional region.

Small winery, excellent wines
A very good welcome, we tasted 5 of the wines they produce with great dedication and passion, also because the rows of vines only allow for manual operations. The presentation of the characteristics of the excellent wines offered was very satisfying and, even though we are not experts, but just enthusiasts, we were fully engaged. Compliments to the Micossi family and if another opportunity to be in the area arises, we will gladly return.

SODDISFATTO
Ambiente accogliente e ospitante. Vini ottimi. Interessante anche la storia di 150 anni del posto. Il titolare è stato esaustivo e curioso nel rapporto con noi.
Può essere interessante visitare anche la cantina dopo la degustazione dei vini.
