About Winery and Wines
Bodega Finca El Refugio is an exciting family-owned project in Castilla-La Mancha in the heartland of Spain. The winery in the middle of the vineyard is “State of the Art” entitled to La Mancha Appellation of Origin and IGP Tierra de Castilla Wines.
Finca el Refugio is a family-owned Boutique Winery & Vineyard located in Socuellamos (Ciudad Real) focused on making modern wines under Organic Viniculture, preserving all its essence. Day by day, we struggle to expand our philosophy, based on job well done, offering a limited production of the best quality and the best value.
We combine Spain and Europe's traditional way of making wine with the most modern technologies for wine elaboration. The ideal climatic conditions, with long harsh winters and warm summers, combined with shallow clay-limestone soils, yield grapes that produce complex and well-balanced wines of distinct character, concentrated and aromatic.
Our winery is entitled to the IGP or Appellation of Origin Vinos de la Tierra de Castilla, and though we are located in the Castilla-La Mancha area We don’t follow the rules of the D.O. La Mancha, so we produce modern wines, Signature Wines.
The ideal climatic conditions in our Region, with long, harsh winters and warm summers, offer the best conditions in Spain for grapes. (As you know is the largest vineyard area in the world).
It is an area of extremes with baking hot summers, bitter winters, and little rainfall, combined with shallow clay-limestone soils, which yield grapes that produce complex and well-balanced wines of distinct character, concentrated and aromatic, offering a limited production of the best quality and the best value.
Tempranillo, Merlot, Cabernet-Sauvignon, Syrah, Petit Verdot, and Verdejo; they are our vine stocks.
Our work philosophy is based on the satisfaction with a job well done, and we combine Spain and Europe's traditional way to make wine with the most modern technologies for wine elaboration, with the firm intention of generating modern wines preserving all its essence.
