Bodegas Campo Viejo
About the Winery
Campo Viejo represents a modern and vibrant vision of Spanish winemaking, rooted in Rioja yet open to innovation and creativity. The winery believes in a more colorful and dynamic way of life, a philosophy reflected in its wines, which express the energy and character of contemporary Spain.
Inaugurated in 2001 near Logroño, in the heart of the DOCa Rioja, the winery was designed as a pioneering project that harmoniously combines enology, architecture, and sustainability. Its structure—partly built underground—blends seamlessly into the landscape while ensuring optimal conditions for winemaking and ageing. This balance between tradition and innovation places Campo Viejo at the forefront of the international wine scene.
Sustainability is a key pillar of the winery: Campo Viejo was among the first Spanish wineries to certify its carbon footprint, reflecting a long-term commitment to environmental responsibility and the preservation of its territory.
About the Wines
Campo Viejo’s wines are the result of a combination of experience, curiosity, and passion—an approach that transforms simple elements into something extraordinary. The winery blends traditional Rioja winemaking methods with modern techniques, creating wines that are both authentic and innovative.
The portfolio is centered around Tempranillo, the emblematic grape of Rioja, often complemented by varieties such as Garnacha, Graciano, and Mazuelo. The range includes different styles—from young, fruit-forward wines to more complex Crianza, Reserva, and Gran Reserva—designed to suit various moments and preferences.
Each wine reflects its origin while embracing a contemporary style: expressive, approachable, and full of character. Through this balance, Campo Viejo continues to reinterpret Rioja tradition, offering wines that capture both heritage and modern vitality.
