Bodegas Corral

Winery in Rioja, Rioja Alta

About the Winery

In 1898, Saturnino Daroca returned to Sojuela after serving as an officer in the Carlist army. It was in that year that he sowed the first roots of what we know today as Bodegas Corral. In these lands of La Rioja began a history of passion and dedication to wine that has lasted throughout the years until today.
The name of our winery has its origin in the family union, when Saturnino’s daughter married Don Martín Corral, who contributed not only his surname, but also the heraldic coat of arms that today continues to be a symbol of our identity.
In 1974, the winery took a step into the future with the construction of our current facilities on the banks of the Camino de Santiago, which allowed us to modernise the winemaking processes without losing sight of the artisan essence that has always defined us.

A NEW BEGINNING
In the year 2024, we begin a new stage under the support of the Fuertes Family and the management of the Jumilla-based Bodegas Luzón, with the firm commitment to continue maintaining the quality of the wines that have made our winery renowned. The family, together with the experience of Bodegas Luzón, unites two iconic regions: Jumilla and La Rioja.

Bodegas Corral is located on the original pilgrims route known as Ruta Jacobea or Way of St. James, entering from the North and from Navarre. It was here that the San Juan de Acre Pilgrims Hospice was built and some of its ruins can still be seen on our estate.

In this priviledged place, where Pilgrims shared the knowledge and experience picked up along the way, wine culture increased its learning with every little contribution from each traveller.

The essence of Bodegas Corral is knowledge of the art of wine; knowledge of the arcane and volatile, which solely in this location was passed on from traveller to traveller.

About the Wines

Each range of Bodegas Corral wines has its own personality and unique characteristics, the result of a combination of tradition, innovation and the singularity of the vineyards of La Rioja Alta.

In Altos de Corral we find the soul of our wines. This vineyard, located at an altitude of 600 metres in the heart of Rioja Alta, is a privileged place where the land and the climate come together to offer us the best conditions for growing the Tempranillo variety. The clay-limestone soil, together with the influence of the continental climate, allows our grapes to reach a perfect balance between acidity and ripening, giving our wines a unique complexity and elegance.

This vineyard is not only the heart of our winery, but also the purest expression of our commitment to the land and tradition. Each vintage is the result of artisanal work, where respect for the environment and the pursuit of excellence are reflected in every bottle we bring to your table
