Siamo stati alle Cantine Canaio ed è stata un’esperienza davvero piacevole. Mirco ci ha accolti con grande gentilezza e ci ha accompagnati in una visita delle cantine spiegandoci con chiarezza come lavora: si vede subito che dietro ogni scelta c’è cura, attenzione e soprattutto tanta passione.
Producono poche bottiglie e pochi vini, ma la qualità è altissima: tutto quello che abbiamo assaggiato era centrato, pulito e con una bella personalità.
Dopo la visita abbiamo fatto la degustazione, accompagnata da antipasti e un primo: tutto buonissimo, prodotti ben scelti e porzioni più che soddisfacenti.
Consiglio vivamente la visita: è uno di quei posti dove non ti vendono solo vino, ma ti trasmettono una storia e un entusiasmo che ti resta addosso. Complimenti a Mirco!

We had such a lovely experience at the family owned Cantina Canaio! The winery is in a beautiful location. Photos simply cannot fully capture the picturesque countryside. We were so warmly welcomed upon our arrival. The wine tour was interesting and our guide was so informative and charming. The "light" lunch was fantastic and also quite filling and tasty! We enjoyed all the wines that we tasted and ordered some to ship home (and bought a couple bottles to take with us). We had a relaxing experience in such a tranquil setting. Highly recommend Cantina Canaio experence!

We visited the family run vineyard Cantina Canaio, between Cortona and Montepulciano for a wine tasting and lunch to celebrate my daughter’s birthday. What a fantastic event, it far exceeded our expectations.
Firstly we had the place to ourselves so we felt more like special guests rather than tourists. Marzia spoke excellent English and gave us a great background to the history of the vineyard and the renovations which the family have undertaken over the last 10 years or so. Then followed a tour of the winery and cellar and a description of the wine making process which was very informative and interesting.
After this we were shown into the dining room for the wine tasting and lunch. We had a 3 course meal which was described as a light lunch complete with descriptions of every course in Italian by the lovely and enthusiastic cook. Thank goodness Marzia could translate. The wines were all delicious and we each had different favourites - mine was the rosé. There is no pressure to buy any wines but we couldn’t resist stocking up with a few bottles to take back to our Villa.
What a great way to spend a few hours in the beautiful Tuscan countryside. Can thoroughly recommend - you won’t be disappointed.

The setting was stunning and our tour guide Marcia was excellent. We enjoyed the tour and learnt a lot as well. The wines we sampled were lovely and the accompanying food was delicious, in fact I am planning to try to recreate the pasta! We enjoyed looking at the book of photographs showing how the farmhouse had been recreated.
