About Winery and Wines
In a world where it’s increasingly difficult to express one’s true identity, Cantine Bosco Nestore remains rooted in the traditions that shaped its story—traditions that no one and nothing could ever erase. The aim is to capture the colors, aromas, and flavors of the Abruzzo region and bottle them into wines that allow you to immerse your senses in a heritage that has been passed down for centuries, no matter where you are.
At the end of the 19th century, when the young Giovanni Bosco began cultivating vines, the town of Castellammare Adriatica (which would become Pescara in 1926) had no more than 15,000 inhabitants and was nestled along a narrow strip of land. Surrounding it were rolling hills—known as the "Lovers’ Hill" of Pescara—offering fertile soil ideal for vineyards.
Strong and determined like the vines he tended, Giovanni eventually produced a remarkable red wine with an intense bouquet and spicy character. That wine, later named Montepulciano d’Abruzzo, would go on to be recognized around the world.
It was 1897, and Cantine Bosco Nestore was born.
