About Winery and Wines

Château de Paraza, located in the heart of the Minervois region, is a historic estate with a legacy that dates back to the 17th century. Purchased by Annick and Pascal Danglas in 2005, this ancestral property became the centerpiece of a family dream. Together with their children, Matthieu, Antoine, and Lucile, the Danglas family embraced the challenge of reviving the vineyard and renovating the estate, transforming it into a destination where history, wine, and hospitality converge.

The château itself once hosted Paul Riquet, the architect behind the Canal du Midi, adding to its historical significance. Today, the estate is divided into two main areas: the grand château, which now houses beautifully restored guest rooms, and the winery, where visitors can enjoy a tasting experience in the stunning 18th-century cellar. The family's passion for craftsmanship is evident in every detail, from the meticulous restoration of the property to their commitment to producing exceptional wines.

Château de Paraza offers an unforgettable experience, where visitors can savor the wines, learn about the rich history of the estate, and enjoy the natural beauty of the surroundings.

Château de Paraza’s vineyards are composed of a harmonious blend of traditional and innovative grape varieties. The estate features old vines of Syrah, Grenache Noir, and Mourvèdre, alongside newer plantings such as Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Pinot Noir, Marselan, Roussanne, and Gewurztraminer, adding diversity to their wine production.

Set on clay-limestone soils with siliceous pebbles from the nearby Black Mountain, the vineyard enjoys a hot, sunny Mediterranean climate, with nearly 300 days of sunshine annually. The influence of the Tramontane wind contributes to the unique growing conditions that shape the character of the wines.

Château de Paraza follows sustainable and environmentally friendly practices, certified as High Environmental Value (HVE). By combining minimal intervention with a deep respect for the terroir, the estate produces wines that express the richness of the land, balancing fruity aromas with silky tannins. With over 13 wines in their collection, ranging from reds and whites to rosé, the wines of Château de Paraza are known for their complexity, character, and elegant structure.
