Welcome to Domaine du Coquerel, a family-run distillery in the heart of Normandy dedicated to crafting exceptional Calvados since 1937. Nestled in the picturesque Normandy bocage, our distillery blends unique heritage, artisanal know-how, and a continuous quest for excellence. We believe that a great Calvados starts with a great cider, which is why we carefully select apples from over 40 INAO-certified varieties—each bringing a distinct character to our blends. Every stage of production, from orchard to bottle, is overseen with precision to create Calvados of remarkable quality, complexity, and authenticity. Our Calvados has earned over 100 international medals and is enjoyed in more than 20 countries worldwide.

About the Wines
At Domaine du Coquerel, crafting AOC Calvados is a meticulous, time-honored process. We use a complex blend of sharp, sweet, bitter-sweet, and bitter-sharp apples and pears, harvested at full maturity between September and November. After crushing and natural fermentation—which can last several months—our cider is distilled on lees in traditional copper stills to preserve its full aromatic range.
We age our eaux-de-vie in nine cellars using French oak barrels of various origins and capacities, allowing optimal interaction with wood and air. From dry cellars that produce more structured Calvados to humid ones that round off the spirit, each environment contributes to the final expression. Our cellar master plays a crucial role, ensuring the oak complements the apple, never overpowers it. Whether young and fruity or aged and complex, every Coquerel Calvados tells a story of terroir, tradition, and the subtle art of distillation and blending.
