About Winery and Wines
Domaine Lacour is located in the heart of Côtes-du-Couchois.
Fabrice Lacour founded Domaine Lacour in 1989 in the village of Saint-Sernin-du-Plain, where traces of winemaking ancestors dating back to 1622 have been found.
Located 30 minutes from Beaune, south of the Côte-de-Beaune and bordering the Côte Chalonnaise, the estate, which initially had only 3 hectares, now boasts 15 hectares of vineyards in the Côtes-du-Couchois, Hautes-Côtes-de-Beaune, and Maranges appellations. The cultivated plots are spread across the villages of Dracy-lès-Couches, Saint-Maurice-lès-Couches, Saint-Sernin-du-Plain, Paris-l’Hôpital, Change and Cheilly-lès-Maranges.
In 2017, Antonin Lacour took over the estate alongside his father, following his studies in viticulture and oenology.
In an artisanal manner, we, father and son, take care of every step of the vineyard work: from planting to vinification, from the soil to the bottle. We manually harvest almost all of our vines and employ one person year-round.
Domaine Lacour cultivates their vines using sustainable agriculture and is committed to respecting the soil and vines as much as possible, particularly by reducing inputs.
The estate produces 9 different wines from the 4 grape varieties of Burgundy wines: Pinot Noir and Gamay for red wines, Aligoté and Chardonnay for white wines. The grapes grow on clay-limestone soils with thick earth that retains water. Soaked in sunshine, they promise powerful wines with fruity and slightly spicy notes.
In total, between 15,000 and 20,000 bottles are produced each year at Domaine Lacour, with the desire to share the passion with those who will taste them.
