Fabio Ferracane

Winery in Marsala

About the Winery

The story of Fabio Ferracane’s winery is one deeply rooted in tradition and family heritage. Fabio’s journey into the world of wine began in the 1990s, when his father, who had inherited 3 hectares of vineyard from Fabio's grandfather, produced wine solely for family consumption. Fabio’s first experiences in the cellar at the age of 15, helping his father, ignited his passion for winemaking. This passion led him to study oenology and viticulture, gaining valuable experience at various wineries, including some abroad. However, Fabio soon realized that his approach to winemaking was different. Unlike many winemakers who focus on adjusting and modifying wine in the cellar, Fabio's philosophy centers on the vineyard itself. His connection to the land and the vines is at the heart of his winemaking process, making his wines a true expression of the Marsala territory where he lives and works.

About the Wines

Fabio Ferracane is a winemaker who believes that the essence of great wine lies in the vineyard. His meticulous care and attention to the vines result in the selection of the best grapes, harvested at the perfect moment. With a profound understanding of the chemistry of fermentation, Fabio vinifies his grapes as naturally as possible, allowing the unique characteristics of the Marsala terroir to shine through in every bottle. His wines are crafted to be the purest expression of the land, reflecting the rich heritage and the distinct flavors of the region. Fabio’s approach to winemaking is one of minimal intervention, where the vineyard takes center stage, and the wine becomes a true testament to the territory in which it was born.

Sunlit hospitality at Fabio Ferrancane

From the moment we arrived, Fabio welcomed us warmly and guided our tasting with genuine care. Every pour felt thoughtful—balanced, flavorful organic wines that showcase true craftsmanship. Outside, the vineyard views were breathtaking, with a peaceful, breezy atmosphere that made lingering effortless. A relaxing escape where comfort and quality both shine. With the classical Italian opera playing in the background, it is truly a sensation seeker’s dream.

Our personal favorites are Zibibo and Vermonth which we happily bought some back home!

This is our favorite spot compared to the wine tasting in Tuscany and Rome. We will definitely visit again when next time in Sicily.

Visit to Ferracane
We went after purchasing the picnic online and it was one of the most expensive experiences we booked.
We arrived and they were not informed that we were coming, there was nothing ready and not a trace of the picnic.
The hospitality of the guy who welcomed us and the uniqueness of the wines partially compensated, but it would have been worth asking for at least a partial refund for the experience.
In summary: considerable disorganization, little sense of hospitality (if I pay for a picnic and you give me two pieces of bread and almonds I expect something to be done), but unique wines - which you might like.
A shame about the disorganization.

Great experience
We had a fantastic time with the hostess, tasting a great variety of local wines, accompanied by a delicious appetizer.
The views from the terrace, unbeatable.
It's a young but expanding winery, with a bright future.
The best part, without a doubt, was the service we received.
Would do it again.

Wonderful evening at Fabio's
Great young winery, Fabio was very welcoming. The organic wines were very delicious, as were the olives, the olive oil and caponata from their own production. We had a wonderful evening with a great view all the way to the sea, away from the tourist crowds. Highly recommended!
The turn-off is easy to miss. It's a gap in the guardrail.

Picnic in the vineyard at Ferracane Cellars
Welcomed from the moment we arrived by the very kind Fabio Ferracane, we were guided along the entire production process of all the various types of organic wine, with a much-appreciated welcome tasting.
Inside the cellars you can appreciate the particular concrete amphorae (I believe) used for vinification and aging.
Afterwards, Fabio left us free to settle on the terrace overlooking the promontory and from there we had the chance to taste the “Camaleonte” rosé wine and admire the splendid surrounding panorama.
The tasting continued with a picnic inside the vineyard, where we were served other wines (based on our tastes) and where Fabio did not fail to explain the visual and olfactory peculiarities of the wines and to serve us delicious locally produced foods as pairings.
I feel I must recommend this experience to everyone, as you immediately perceive the care and passion with which the owner of the winery carries on this activity, putting it at the full disposal of his guests and giving the opportunity to appreciate the excellent quality of his wines.

Beautiful Wine Tasting & Vinyard Tour
We did a beautiful vineyard and wine tasting tour at Fabio’s! The host was so lovely, friendly and welcoming :) we had delicious organic wine which was well explained and we were able to taste the wine at early stages so we can experience the full process.

We then had a delicious snack and a choice of 4 wines to try. I would also like to highlight how delicious the sun dried tomato’s are (fabiois dad makes these)!

If we’re ever in the area we would love to do this again!
We would suggest saying the tour could possibly be 3 hours long as we ran out of time :)

An evening to remember
This is an excellent wine tasting experience that we thoroughly enjoyed and savoured. Both Fabio and our guide Johanna were welcoming friendly and their knowledge was great. The winery is in beautiful countryside and watching the sunset while enjoying the food and wine was just beautiful. We wouldn’t hesitate to do this again . Highly recommend this tour.

Amazing!
Fabio welcomed my friends and I in open arms. He was very nice and polite. He explained us about the grapes types, the process of wine making and enriched us with lots of knowledge. The tastings and the food were more than amazing! It was perfect!
In conclusion, we really recommend to go there and have this experience that we had.

Very wonderful experience
We’ve had the last tasting of the day and we were with just the two of us.
We got a little tour trough the vineyard from our sweet tourguide and after that we took a look at all the different tanks of wine in the warehouse. We even got to taste a few of the half finished ones in the barrels to compare them with the finished wines.
After the tour we got a wonderful table at the panoramic terrace for our tasting with a pairing of Sicilian food with the wines. We had the 4-wine tasting but we got to taste 5 or 6 even. Just “on the house” with again a lot of extra information from our guide.
We really enjoyed the experience and the wines from Fabio (who also came by to say hallo and told us some things about his wines)

Very highly recommend this tour!
