Provides 5 wine tastings and winery visit from €35.00
Baglio Donna Franca is the heart of the Sicilian vineyards, the symbol of our project to rediscover and valorize our history and culture. The term "Baglio" comes from the Arabic "bahal", which means courtyard, and refers to original architectural expressions articulated around a tower with specific defensive needs. The structure is an oasis of peace amid vast vineyards. Originally owned by the Florio family, the Baglio is now an exclusive wine resort with various types of rooms, a restaurant, a beautiful swimming pool among the vineyards and an impressive cellar. The winery is run by the owner himself, Giacomo Ansaldi, who is not only a renowned oenologist but also a researcher of Sicilian history in winemaking and Sicilian identity. He's the person who takes care of the vineyards used for the production of three organic wines. Baglio Donnafranca's refined cellar is part of the building where bottling and tasting can be experienced in the same environment. This is the "heart" of the Relais, where guests can admire the modern and efficient machinery and the cellar where the oak barrels are kept. The philosophy of the production process is to respect the "terroir" and the intrinsic characteristics of the grapes. The wines are not defined by a specific grape variety, but by the uniqueness of the place where they are grown: the final result of a complex wine experience lived to the full. The Ansaldi winery is a good example of the importance and the long history of the winemaking tradition of the area. Visiting the winery is like traveling through a true museum of wine. Visiting wine lovers can enjoy wine tours to discover the cultural values of the territory, wine tasting of organic wines, including the special Perpetuo wine, participate in Sicilian cooking classes and food pairing.

Provides 2 wine tastings and winery visit from €45.00
The story of Fabio Ferracane’s winery is one deeply rooted in tradition and family heritage. Fabio’s journey into the world of wine began in the 1990s, when his father, who had inherited 3 hectares of vineyard from Fabio's grandfather, produced wine solely for family consumption. Fabio’s first experiences in the cellar at the age of 15, helping his father, ignited his passion for winemaking. This passion led him to study oenology and viticulture, gaining valuable experience at various wineries, including some abroad. However, Fabio soon realized that his approach to winemaking was different. Unlike many winemakers who focus on adjusting and modifying wine in the cellar, Fabio's philosophy centers on the vineyard itself. His connection to the land and the vines is at the heart of his winemaking process, making his wines a true expression of the Marsala territory where he lives and works.

The early '90s were the years of the great Sicilian enological revolution and the brothers Melia, coming from generations of vinegrowers, were joined by brother-in-law Francesco Vallone in their quest to make their dream come true: producing an exceptional Sicilian red. This is how Ceuso was born. It all began in their garage (they were indeed referred to as garagistes by a well-known guide) with an initial production of around 6,000 bottles. In 1999 they bought an old wine baglio dating from 1860, which they brought back to its original splendour while adding state-of-the-art vinification technology. Today 120,000 bottles a year are produced and Ceuso wines are exported in several countries in both the Old and the New World. The many visitors who come to see for themselves the old baglio’s cellars and learn about the winemaking process are welcomed personally by the Melia brothers to sample the wines together with excellent local products in a congenial, friendly atmosphere. International praise for Ceuso wines is a source of pride and motivation for the company that strives to excel and make its land known through its wines.

Baglio Sorìa’s old seventeenth-century building is one with the agricultural estate. Situated halfway along the coast, on the hillside which overlooks this enchanting landscape, Baglio Sorìa is a perfect example of the traditional Sicilian architecture common in the most western part of Sicily. Baglios were places of work and habitation for rural communities. They were a point of reference for men and women who shared, generation after generation, a way of Sicilian life and a particular Sicilian experience. The original building consisted of the main house, storehouses, craft workshops for craft making, and some living spaces for farm workers.
