Fratelli Serio e Battista Borgogno

Winery in Langhe, Barolo

About the Winery

Fratelli Serio & Battista Borgogno: Since 1897, in the heart of Cannubi, one of the most prestigious crus of Barolo and the Langhe, the Borgogno family has passionately passed down the art of wine. For five generations, the goal has been clear: to protect the territory and transform its essence into great wines. Today, the young Federica and Emanuela lead the company with vision, dedication and extreme talent, enhancing every nuance that nature offers. With a vision rooted in history and at the same time projected towards innovation, they work with sustainability to create and communicate the most iconic wines of the Langhe: from the more everyday Dolcetto and Barbera to the majestic Barolo Cannubi and its precious Riserva"

The vineyards, thriving in a region celebrated for its rolling hills and fertile soils, benefit from meticulous care that honors both the vine and the environment. Each vine is treated as unique, with cultivation practices tailored annually to meet the specific needs dictated by the climate. This sustainable approach includes the use of natural products like copper and sulfur, grassing to maintain soil health, and the complete avoidance of chemical herbicides, insecticides, and fertilizers. Visitors to the winery will experience not just the exceptional wines but also the profound connection between the land, the vines, and the family who nurtures them.

About the Wines

Fratelli Serio & Battista Borgogno winery produces wines that are a true reflection of the Langhe region's rich heritage and diverse terroir. Each bottle captures the essence of the vineyard, from the mineral-rich soils to the meticulous care given to each vine. The result is a portfolio of wines that embody both tradition and innovation, offering rich, complex flavors that speak of the land and the seasons.

The winery’s approach to winemaking is one of minimal intervention, allowing the natural characteristics of the grapes to shine. This commitment to quality over quantity is evident in every glass, from the vibrant freshness of their whites to the deep, structured complexity of their reds. For those seeking a wine experience that resonates with authenticity and respect for nature, Serio & Battista Borgogno's wines offer a journey into the very soul of Langhe.

Very Nice Tasting and setup
The host was very good at telling the story of the family and its wines and went the extra mile to let us taste as many wines as possible.
Very professional and nice setup.
Maybe some more finger food would have helped to appreciate the tasting even more, especially for Barolos and Barbarescos.

Fratelli Serio e Battista Borgogno Winery
My wife and I participated in the tasting at the Fratelli Serio e Battista Borgogno winery. Given that neither of us has specific expertise in wine, we rate the experience positively. We were welcomed with courtesy and the staff accurately explained the characteristics of the different wines and their respective vineyards. We were struck by the great dedication of the Borgogno family in ensuring the quality of the product, aiming for excellence. The environment was well-kept, without ostentation, and with the right family atmosphere. I believe it is the right way for a company that, despite not being large, boasts a very respectable production quantity.
The visit to the historic cellar was interesting,

Not our glass of wine
The experience was very cold and matter of fact, little interaction from the host. It’s impossible to taste 7 red wines with breadsticks and a few hazel nuts, the wines got drier and drier as we went. Host was uninterested so we wouldn’t do this again.

Great experience!
Booked this tasting as a birthday gift for my partner and it was a great experience. Before the tasting started, we got to know more about the history of the winery and the specifications on how to make it. Very interesting and cool to see how big some barrels can be. Very nice selection of wine for the tasting. The lady was super kind and fun to listen to. Definitely recommend to visit.

Good experience
Hello, it was a very nice experience.
The service was very pleasant.
We received interesting information and the locals were friendly.
It would be a good idea to expand the range of languages to include French and German, for example.
