Gaggioli Maria Letizia Azienda Agricola
About the Winery
Located in the scenic hills of Zola Predosa, Bologna, Azienda Gaggioli is a historic winery that has been producing high-quality DOC and DOCG wines for over 50 years. Our 20 hectares of vineyards, spread across the sun-drenched clayey blue-red hills, form a natural amphitheater that enhances the quality of our grapes. We believe that the best wine is made by the vigneron, which is why we focus on creating a "friendly-wine" that our customers can trust, using modern farming methods that respect both nature and people.
At Azienda Gaggioli, we oversee the entire winemaking process with meticulous care, from harvesting and vinifying the grapes to bottling and labeling the wines. Our aim is to offer wines that are enjoyable for everyday drinking, as well as those special bottles for more memorable occasions. With a production of around 130,000 bottles per year, we cater to both the Italian market and international markets, including Germany, Switzerland, Poland, the UK, and China.
About the Wines
Azienda Gaggioli’s wines are a true reflection of the Colli Bolognesi region, with Pignoletto being our flagship variety. Our range includes Colli Bolognesi Pignoletto Frizzante DOCG, Pignoletto Superiore DOCG, and Magnificat Bianco Bologna DOC, a refined white wine aged in wood. In addition to our Pignoletto wines, we produce Colli Bolognesi Barbera, Cabernet-Sauvignon DOC, Merlot DOC, and Rosso Bologna DOC, each crafted with attention to detail and respect for tradition.
We also create sparkling wines such as Il Francia Brut, a Pignoletto Superiore DOCG made using the Charmat method and aged on lees for 12 months, and Letizia Rosato Spumante Brut. Our sweet wines include Ambrosia Pignoletto Passito DOC. Additionally, we produce Saba, a traditional Bolognese ingredient made from Pignoletto must, perfect for pairing with Parmigiano, ricotta, or even ice cream.

Lightness, tradition, art
We were lucky: Thursday afternoon the weather was fantastic, incredible sun and colors, immersed in greenery.
Visit to the winery with Mrs. Letizia, who passionately explained all the steps, from harvesting to bottling.
We concluded the visit with an excellent dinner in a well-kept environment and tasted delicious and abundant dishes,
accompanied by the wines. Needless to say, the strong point is the prosecco!
We plan to return!
WONDERFUL
Landscape, facility, visit to the vineyards and workshops and the lunch, everything perfect!
Filippo and Mrs. Letizia were very professional, kind and very welcoming.
Everything very interesting!
We will be back soon!
Simply exceptional
The package included a tour of the winery + dinner with tasting, and that's exactly how it went.
A guided tour, detailed and very interesting, of the production winery. An abundant and delicious dinner with a tasting of wines selected by the sommelier, Riccardo, who was very nice, passionate and above all competent.
A very pleasant evening that we will surely repeat as soon as possible.
Perfect for a couple, but also doable as a group.
Good wine, good food and a family atmosphere
The evening experience is very pleasant, but it doesn't allow for a visit to the vineyards, so, if you want to visit the vineyards, it's better to book for lunch. I found the quality-price ratio of the wine very interesting, so I recommend buying a few bottles.
Winery tour and dinner in their restaurant
Feedback
Booked an English tour and no English-speaking guide was available.
No tour through the wine region.
No explanations about the wines during the tasting. They were just put on the table.
We had the feeling that there was no great desire to explain anything to us.
The food was very good.
But because of the other things, unfortunately not recommended.
Is there a possibility of a partial refund due to the limited service?
Excellent experience
Excellent availability and clarity in the management of the experience.
I will definitely come back.
Great place
A little longer explanation about the operations of the wineproducrion would be nice
