GranCollina Cantina
About the Winery
Gran Collina Winery, now in its fifth generation, has a rich history that began in 1890 among the Terre Alfieri hills of Lower Monferrato, bordering the Langhe region. Founded by Giacomo Cotto and his wife Elisabetta, the winery has flourished over the years, with their original Barbera, Nebbiolo, and Arneis vineyards still thriving today. Giovanni Cotto, born in 1951, introduced new grape varieties and modernized the estate, paving the way for its continued success.
Today, Gran Collina Winery spans 18 hectares and is managed by the fifth generation of the Cotto family, who blend tradition with state-of-the-art agricultural and oenological practices. Committed to sustainability, the winery has also become energy-independent through the installation of a photovoltaic system, ensuring that its respect for the environment matches its dedication to quality winemaking.
About the Wines
At GranCollina, the Cotto family's passion and grape-growing tradition are meticulously transferred from the vineyard to the bottle, resulting in a selection of excellent DOCG and DOC wines. The winery seamlessly blends modern winemaking techniques with the family's long-standing traditions. In the GranCollina cellar, red wines such as Nebbiolo, Barbera, Dolcetto, and Bonarda are aged in wooden casks, while other wines are stored in traditional plastic-reinforced fiberglass casks. Visitors can enjoy these wines in the cozy Tavernetta, where they are paired with bread and salami in a setting that reflects the rich heritage of the Cotto family.

Excellent experience
The landscape is truly enchanting. I highly recommend a walk within the estate's property, with particular attention to the vineyards and hazelnut groves, which offer picturesque views and an authentic immersion in nature.
