About Winery and Wines

I am a winemaker in Cavaion Veronese, located in the heart of the Bardolino production zone. Born in 1962, the third of six children, my journey in winemaking began in 1984 with my first harvest. Prior to that, our family’s grapes were sold to other wineries. Growing up, I was captivated by the rhythms of the seasons and the beauty of the land. From childhood, the sights, sounds, and smells of harvest filled my days and inspired my dream to create my own wines.

Today, I steward 28 hectares of vineyards, primarily planted with Corvina grapes. The land I cultivate is as diverse as it is remarkable, shaped over millennia by glaciers that carved Lake Garda and the Valdadige valley. Monte Baldo to the north and the Mediterranean microclimate of Lake Garda to the south define our terroir, creating the perfect environment for growing exceptional grapes.

This is not just work for me; it is a legacy. The vineyard is a gift passed down from my father, and it is my hope to someday entrust it to my three daughters so they can carry on this tradition and pass it on to future generations. Every wine we produce is a tribute to the unique qualities of this land and my commitment to respecting and preserving its character.

Nestled among the morainal hills of Verona and close to the shores of Lake Garda, our vineyards benefit from a rare and privileged terroir. The cool breezes from Monte Baldo, combined with the Mediterranean climate of the lake, impart elegance, freshness, and depth to our wines.

Our focus is on the Corvina grape, which thrives in the diverse soils and microclimates of our estate. Each square meter of this land contributes its unique character, and every decision we make in the vineyard and winery is aimed at preserving these qualities.

Beyond our wines, the region is celebrated for its culinary traditions, with restaurants offering fresh lake fish, grilled meats, and other local specialties. The area’s rich history of viticulture dates back to the Paleovenetian age in the 8th-7th centuries BC, making every glass of wine a sip of history and heritage.

At Le Fraghe, we invite you to experience the harmony between our land, our history, and our wines, crafted with care and respect for the past, present, and future of this extraordinary region.
