Mezzo Ettaro

Winery in Valpolicella, Amarone, Valpolicella Classica

About the Winery

HALF HECTARE IN THE HEART OF VALPOLICELLA CLASSICA

Mezzo Ettaro is the brainchild of Giorgio Dolcetta who, following a major life change, decided to structure the farm commercially and productively based on what was initially just a hobby, to sell his products through hospitality.

Half a Hectare in name and fact!

A small manicured vineyard on the Masùa hill cultivated personally by Giorgio Dolcetta, charismatic owner, and Leonardo Zamboni his promising helmsman. The care of every vine and olive tree on the estate is done strictly naturally and truly by hand so that you can savor all the authenticity of Mezzo Ettaro's terroir in a glass of Valpolicella Superiore DOC Bio, Rosato Veronese IGT Bio still or sparkling, or Amarone DOCG from the limited production. The grapes of Mezzo Ettaro are vinified separately at a prestigious winery on the Torricelle di Verona as the size of the winery does not allow direct vinification.

Love for nature and respect for its times, passion for wine and local products give life to a wide variety of tastings, and with warmth and conviviality Giorgio and Leonardo welcome each of their guests into the house.

With a focus on quality and authenticity, Mezzo Ettaro offers unique experiences, from tasting to cultural programs, sometimes even involving childrens.

Giorgio and Leonardo's passion and warm hospitality attract visitors, offering a slow and meaningful form of tourism. In 2026, Mezzo Ettaro received an important recognition for inclusivity, thanks to the organization of educational sessions on relationship, love and sexuality in 2025. This year the sessions will continue, also expanding to other topics related to personal well-being. Leonardo received the "Best Wine Hospitality Manager" award for inclusivity, where wine is combined with dialogue on important and thought-provoking topics.

In 2017 we produced the AMARONE CLASSICO DELLA VALPOLICELLA DOCG with 3 months of drying and 3 years aging in oak barrels from witch we produced a limited quantity of bottles.

In 2019 the AMARONE DELLA VALPOLICELLA DOCG "CORTE DOLCETTA" was produced again as the season was incredibly promising. SOIL: Predominantly limestone of alluvial origin, with moderate continental climate and Mediterranean microclimate.

Just in 2024 we vinified the grapes to produce a fresh, drinkable and with high longevity VALPOLICELLA DOC "VELOCE" without aging and with green flavour such as tomato leaf and peperoni. SOIL: Predominantly limestone of alluvial origin, with moderate continental climate and Mediterranean microclimate.

A must-do experience
Our tasting with a light lunch at Mezzo Ettaro was enchanting. Leonardo welcomed us with a smile and among the vines told us the story of the winery and everything that goes into one of their bottles. Their wines are authentic, not commercial, and you can feel the true essence of Valpolicella. The lunch was also noteworthy with high-quality local products. Giorgio, the owner, delighted us with his stories. An unforgettable experience, we will definitely be back!
Thanks for everything

An authentic and unforgettable experience in Valpolicella Classica
The tasting at the Mezzo Ettaro farm was a simply extraordinary experience.

From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with warmth and genuineness by Giorgio and Leonardo, who with their enthusiasm guided us in discovering their wines and their production philosophy. The visit was intimate and engaging, far from the dynamics of large wineries: here you breathe a familiar and authentic atmosphere, where every detail is tended to with love.

The wines we tasted were exceptional, the result of artisanal work that makes the most of the territory. Accompanied by small tastings of local products, the wines were able to express all the richness and identity of this land.

What makes this experience special is not just the extraordinary quality of the wine, but the soul that Giorgio and Leonardo put into their work. Their enthusiasm is contagious, and their hospitality makes you feel part of a small world where wine is sharing and culture.

If you are looking for an authentic experience in Valpolicella Classica, far from the more beaten tourist paths, this small farm is an unmissable stop. We will definitely be back!

TASTING WITH A PLATTER
We had a wonderful time!
An enchanting location, immersed in nature and with a view that is nothing short of spectacular...
Exceptional extra virgin olive oil and among the 4 wines the sparkling rosé was our favorite, we took a couple of bottles home.
We recommend it! A must-try!
