Selmin Enrico

Selmin Enrico vineyards are not simple plots of land, but rather pieces of a unique mosaic located in Valle San Giorgio. All our rows are owned and cultivated with dedication, where the land is both generous and challenging.

We are surrounded by the slopes of the mountains that define our microclimate: Rusta, Gemola, Fasolo, and Ventolone. This privileged position creates a natural amphitheater that protects the vines and ensures the constant ventilation we mentioned, essential for our organic viticulture.

In this area, the roots sink into a soil that is the true secret of our wines:

Volcanic Matrix: The presence of schist and effusive rocks gives the wines a vertical minerality and an unmistakable savoriness.

Exposure and Slope: The sloping terrain allows for perfect water drainage, concentrating sugars and aromas in small, healthy grapes.

Every bottle of Valle San Giorgio carries with it the breath of these four mountains and the strength of an ancient land, worked today as it was in 2002: with hands and heart.

Selmin Enrico's winemaking is an act of listening, not forcing. We have chosen to eliminate the superfluous, allowing the grapes, and only the grapes, to dictate the pace.

We harvest each bunch strictly by hand. This allows us to make an initial selection in the vineyard, bringing only whole and healthy fruit to the cellar, an essential condition for working without chemicals.

To enhance freshness and aromatic expression, we adopt the semi-carbonic technique. Our red grapes are destemmed without pressing to preserve each individual berry.

Fermentation is entrusted exclusively to the native microbial flora present on the skins and in the environment of our cellar. Each vintage is thus unique and unrepeatable.

We believe that wine should retain its vital structure. For this reason, our wines are not subjected to invasive filtration or fining. The possible presence of a light sediment is a sign of a living, whole, and authentic product.
