About Winery and Wines

Sicily, four generations compared and a small town on the southern slope of Etna. In Nicolosi, the Serafica family has dedicated itself since 1950, with passion and with the utmost respect for the principles of environmental sustainability, to the cultivation of vineyards and olive groves belonging to the Sicilian agro-biodiversity, whose fruits have always been transformed into wine and oil, with unique and incomparable characteristics.The company today is led by Andrea Serafica, with the support of the new generation: Giuseppe Borzì and Nino Serafica who created the brand for the marketing of company products and Maria Ausilia Borzì who introduced teaching in the company and is dedicated to hospitality touristic and experiential.

From the southern slope of Etna, the 15 hectares of vineyards of the company enjoy an extraordinary balance between savory breezes, sandy and mineral soils, good rainfall and a considerable temperature range which, thanks to the cyclical influence of sea currents, is decisive for the fruit ripening and their organoleptic characteristics. The vineyards, from which the Versante Sud, Grotte and Mirantur lines of wines come to life, are located at an altitude varying between 700 meters and 950 meters above sea level and at the extreme end of the Etna viticulture. Here we grow only native vines such us Nerello Mascalese, Nerello Cappuccio, Carricante and Catarratto.No less important is the olive grove which with its 40 hectares distributed in the territories of Nicolosi, Ragalna, Santa Maria Di Licodia at an altitude ranging from 300 to 1000 meters above sea level is told in the four labels where the Nocellara etnea, queen cultivar of the territory, gives an extra virgin olive oil with an articulated and rich taste.
