About Winery and Wines
The Estate Enza La Fauci was born from a deep passion for viticulture, nurtured over decades of working in the family’s renowned distillery, Giovi. Located near Capo Peloro, at the entrance of the Messina Strait, the estate is surrounded by mythical lands where Ulysses once encountered the sirens during his journey. The unique terroir, with mixed clay soils on limestone and constant breezes from the Scirocco and Tramontana winds, provides the perfect conditions for cultivating native Sicilian grape varieties such as Nerello Mascalese, Nerello Cappuccio, Nocera, and Nero d’Avola. Enza La Fauci’s philosophy is rooted in a deep respect for nature and the vineyard, with all work done by hand and no chemical herbicides used, focusing on organic principles. The estate is a testament to the dedication and love for the land, producing wines that express the full vitality and complexity of the Sicilian terroir.
Enza La Fauci's wines are a reflection of the unique climate and terroir of eastern Sicily. From the coastal vineyards of Messina to the volcanic slopes of Etna, each wine embodies the essence of the land. Case Bianche, a white wine made from Zibibbo grapes, presents an intense straw-yellow color and offers a dry, aromatic taste with a persistent minerality, perfect for pairing with seafood and shellfish. Incanto, crafted from Grecanico grapes, comes from vineyards on Mount Etna at 1200 meters, delivering a fresh and balanced flavor with citrus and vegetal notes. On the red side, Oblì Faro DOC is a blend of Nerello Mascalese, Nocera, Nerello Cappuccio, and Nero d’Avola, offering a full-bodied, velvety taste with complex aromas of ripe fruit, cocoa, and spices. Another standout red, Terra di Vento Faro DOC, similarly blends native varieties to create a ruby red wine with rich, lingering tannins, perfect for pairing with mushrooms, truffle, red meats, and mature cheeses. Each bottle is crafted with care, showcasing the artistry and tradition of Sicilian winemaking.
