About Winery and Wines
Located in Passopisciaro on the northern slopes of Mount Etna, Tenute Moganazzi is a family-run winery with deep roots in Sicilian winemaking. Founded by Don Michele Pennisi, a passionate cardiologist, the estate is now managed by his son Vincenzo. The winery nurtures eight hectares of vineyards, producing limited quantities of artisanal Etna wines. With a focus on tradition, sustainability, and minimal intervention, Tenute Moganazzi reflects the volcanic terroir, offering a genuine taste of Sicily’s winemaking heritage.
Tenute Moganazzi produces exceptional Etna DOC wines with deep respect for their volcanic origins. Their Don Michele Etna Rosso DOC is crafted from 80-year-old vines of Nerello Mascalese and Nerello Cappuccio, offering notes of wild spices, red fruit, and vanilla. The Don Michele Etna Bianco DOC, made from Carricante and Catarratto grapes, is rich in white and tropical fruit aromas with balsamic undertones. With a minimal annual production, each bottle is a testament to the unique qualities of the Etna region.
