Tenute Sella & Mosca

Winery in Gallura

About the Winery

A placid expanse of vineyards that stretches as far as the eye can see: a set of varieties that gives life to wines that are equally unique and different from each other. The company was founded in 1899, but it was only in 2016 that it became part of the world of Terra Moretti. An ideal city, an iconic village, a human adventure that has left its mark, generating a magical place where architecture and nature come together to welcome and excite.

About the Wines

Each Sella&Mosca wine is the expression of an organic project, aimed at enhancing the richness and biodiversity of a unique habitat, born from the interaction between extraordinary men and unspoiled nature.

I Piani, north of Alghero, is the largest area of the company. This property covers 650 hectares, in a sunny plain caressed by the mistral wind, immersed in an incredible botanical park surrounded by over 520 hectares of vineyards. To these lands are added the small plots of Gallura, in the north-eastern part of the island (15 hectares) and Giba, in Sulcis (6 hectares). The terroir is different for each site and characterized by unique environmental elements: a soil rich in mineral humours and stingy with water, where the air is clear and the climate is as warm as it is windy. In each micro-area, the various grape varieties give different answers, allowing an exceptional plurality of characteristics.

A different anniversary!
I booked a wine tasting experience at Sella & Mosca for our second anniversary precisely because I wanted to do something new with my man and because we are passionate about Sardinian wines.
I highly recommend this service for several reasons:
- a super knowledgeable guide, even with questions from slightly difficult people, who warmed up the atmosphere even though the cellars were a bit chilly. Cover up, you're inside for 90 minutes!
- the quality of the wines is boundless… and I, who don't love sparkling wines, even downed the rosé! Paired with the wines, this wonderful platter is offered (one per person!) which takes you on an experience of flavors. Practically a full lunch!
- the shop offers the chance to buy the wines with a 10% discount and I brought home an unmissable souvenir!
- all the staff were so kind and professional, I felt like I was in a 5-star hotel… well done, congratulations!

In short, highly recommended and thank you for the pleasant experience (we also made friends with two groups of very nice people from Milan!).
Warm regards from Jole and Daniel
Correct the website to say that the experience could last “from two to three hours” to be more realistic with the service timeframe offered - which makes you want to click “book” even more!

Naturalmente è possibile acquistare il vino in bottiglie all'enoteca. Source: google Carmine Davide Allocca
