Zagorje Hill Winery Experience – Private Wine Tour from Zagreb

Nestled among the green hills of Croatian Zagorje, just 40 km from Zagreb, Vuglec Breg offers an authentic wine and countryside experience in one of Croatia’s most picturesque regions. Surrounded by vineyards, forests, castles, and traditional villages, this private tour invites you to discover the beauty, gastronomy, and winemaking traditions of Zagorje.

The Vuglec Breg Winery was established in 2003 as part of a rural tourism project and today includes around 4 hectares of vineyards planted on the sunny southern slopes of Zagorje. During the experience, you’ll have the opportunity to stroll through the vineyards and scenic countryside paths while learning about the local terroir and grape varieties cultivated in the region.

The tasting experience includes a selection of sparkling wines produced using the traditional “Champagne method” as well as wines made from grape varieties such as Chardonnay, Riesling, Graševina, Sauvignon, Yellow Muscat, Sylvaner, Pinot Noir, Frankovka, and Cabernet Sauvignon. Relax on the estate’s panoramic green terraces with a glass of wine while enjoying the peaceful atmosphere of the Zagorje hills.

The wine tasting is accompanied by some of the best local specialties from the Zagorje region, including artisanal cheeses, homemade bread baked in a traditional oven, and the famous Zagorje štrukli, one of Croatia’s most beloved traditional dishes.

The experience takes place at the Vuglec Breg estate, home to an authentic rural village, a renowned restaurant awarded the Michelin Bib Gourmand distinction, and charming countryside cottages overlooking the vineyards.
