Bassano del Grappa Walking Tour with Authentic Grappa Experience
Here is what's in store for you
The tour of Bassano del Grappa begins at the Ponte degli Alpini, a historic symbol of the city. It was often destroyed by war and flooding from the Brenta River, but was always rebuilt in stone or wood. In the 16th century, the famous Venetian architect Andrea Palladio was commissioned to rebuild it yet again.
We will continue on a slight incline and admire ancient palaces, the remains of the ancient city walls, the Castello degli Ezzelini, Palazzo Pretorio, and Piazza Garibaldi, dominated by the Torre Civica, which overlooks the entire historic centre of Bassano del Grappa.
Finally, we will visit a historic distillery where you will learn about the history of Italy's most famous spirit: grappa. You will discover its origins, how it was produced in the past and how it is produced today, and then enjoy a guided tasting of six of the most iconic products.
