Unser Weingut Pintar liegt in der malerischen Region Collio in Friaul-Julisch Venetien, in der Nähe der Stadt Gorizia, und produziert seit fünf Generationen Weine in Familienbesitz. Das Weingut liegt in dem charmanten Dorf San Floriano del Collio an der historischen Weinstraße, die San Floriano mit Cormons verbindet. Unser Weingut ist traditionsbewusst und setzt gleichzeitig auf moderne Weinbereitungstechniken. Die einzigartige Kombination aus reichlich Sonnenschein und den besonderen Böden der Region ermöglicht es uns, außergewöhnliche Weißweine und eine erlesene Auswahl an Rotweinen zu produzieren. Zu Beginn des neuen Jahrtausends haben wir unser Know-how um die Herstellung von Schaumweinen nach der traditionellen Methode erweitert. Nach dem Beitritt Sloweniens zur Europäischen Union im Jahr 2004 haben wir unser Angebot um einen grenzüberschreitenden Wein erweitert, für den wir Trauben aus unseren Weinbergen auf beiden Seiten der Grenze verwenden. Family-owned winery located in San Floriano del Collio - Gorizia, which produces handcrafted wines, according to ancient traditional methods of Collio respecting nature and the health of consumers. The San Floriano village, with its 276 meters above sea level, is the highest peak of the hill area over the city of Gorizia, cut in two parts by the border between Italy and Slovenia, called Collio (or Brda on the Slovene side). Its geographical position is an extremely rare and vital example of microclimate, with cold winds from Russia coming down through the Vipava and Isonzo valleys, and, on the other side, wet and hot winds gently blowing from the Mediterranean Sea. This climatic and geographic factors together with the mineral-rich soil of hard sands and softer silt called Ponka by the locals, form an especially good place for wine-growing, formerly discovered by ancient Romans.

In the early 1900s, Ivan Miklus acquired the land to be devoted to the cultivation of grapevines. With the help of his son Franz he renewed one hectare of vineyard by digging the solid land with his own hands as deep as 80 cm. Soon Franz was called for a long time in military service and after a few years he was offered to work as a commander in aviation. Even against the will of his father, he refused and chose a much harder life but which gave him more satisfaction. Working the land at that time required much more effort and sweat than today. In this way, in a small house garage the production of wine started, first bulk and later also bottled. In 90s the garage was enlarged and transformed in a small wine cellar and some vineyards were purchased in Draga area. In 1992, a constant wine commerce began with the first labels named Draga. Later the grandson Milan, with a great help of his wife Anna, started to produce also wines labeled Miklus. Thus, in 1997, he began the construction of the cellar with modern equipment and with much more capacity.

San Floriano del Collio nestles among gently rolling hills covered with vineyards, cherry trees and acacia woods, in Gorizia province. It is here that Mariano and his wife Loredana planted their first vineyard in 1972 on a small plot of land in Asci hamlet. Over the years their great commitment and enthusiasm has allowed the estate to increase its surface to approximately 30 hectares, situated in Collio and Friuli Isonzo DOC zones, which have always been prime winegrowing country and recognized as Italy’s prestigious winemaking areas. Walter and Luana, the owners’ children, and Denis, grandson, each took up role in the business to help Mariano and his wife on this family-run wine estate.
