Private Blind Wine Tasting & Food Pairing at Castello Monterinaldi in Chianti Classico

This private experience at Castello di Monterinaldi is a practical introduction to the world of wine, designed especially for curious beginners and guided by the estate's expert sommeliers.

The session begins with a guided tour of the historic cellar, where you'll learn about the organic winemaking philosophy behind their Chianti Classico wines. Afterwards, you'll move to the estate’s wine lounge to learn the essential techniques for evaluating wine, from aroma recognition to sensory analysis.

You will then apply these new skills in a blind tasting of six wines. Served without revealing the labels, this format lets you focus entirely on the aromas, flavors, and balance in the glass. The selection includes four Monterinaldi wines: an IGT rosé, a Chianti Classico DOCG, a Chianti Classico Riserva DOCG, and an older-vintage wine, alongside two wines from other Italian regions. This comparison helps illustrate how different terroirs influence a wine's character.

The tasting is accompanied by a selection of gourmet bites, which may vary depending on availability. Examples include mimosa eggs, crostini with ragù, Tuscan beef stew, Pecorino, finocchiona, and chocolate cake, allowing you to discover how each ingredient interacts with the wine.
