Romantic Getaway: Tasting, Treasure Hunt & Stargazing Loft in San Martín

Your getaway begins in the medieval streets of San Martín del Castañar, in the heart of the Sierra de Francia. You'll start with a self-guided, interactive treasure hunt that takes about an hour and a half, following hidden clues that lead you to a 16th-century underground wine cellar carved directly into the mountain.
Inside, a member of the hospitality team will welcome you for a guided tour. You'll learn about the native Rufete grape and the winemaking traditions of the Sierra de Salamanca before starting your tasting. You will sample four different Rufete wines, all under the Sierra de Salamanca D.O.P. The tasting is paired with a selection of local products, including Iberian acorn-fed cold cuts, semi-cured goat cheese with artisan marmalade, organic olive oil, local honey, olives, and village bread.
The experience continues with an overnight stay in a renovated rooftop loft in the village. On arrival, you'll find a welcome glass of cava, chocolates, and flowers. The loft features a private terrace with nearly 360° views and a motorized telescope, perfect for stargazing under the clear skies of the Sierra de Francia.

You can find a public parking lot at the entrance to the village. From there, both the wine cellar and the loft are a 5-minute walk away.
