Soda Rock Lane is definitely a country...
Soda Rock Lane is definitely a country road and when you arrive at Stuhlmuller's vineyard/tasting-room, you feel like you really are in the countryside, away from the traffic. They have a nice tasting room, with outdoor seating and a nice setting. Output varies from 300 to 3000 cases so they're a small vineyard, but the Cabernet is great and was the reason we sought them out. They also have a good Chardonnay and a fortified 2002 Cab for $45.
Stuhlmuller's is open by appointment and worth the drive.

Wonderful Chardonnay, both styles of oaked and...
Wonderful Chardonnay, both styles of oaked and unoaked. I love the intimacy of the tasting room and most of all, the staff, who are all so friendly and knowledgeable. A 'must' visit when in the Alexander Valley!

Robert Young winery is a good bit...
Robert Young winery is a good bit away from the often tourist filled Napa area, but it's well worth the drive. The tasting room is quaint and the staff are friendly and knowledgeable. Jeff has been taking care of us for years.
We've been to many wineries in the area and have even joined a few of their clubs, but Robert Young is definitely my favorite. The wines are fantastic. I am not usually a white wine drinker, but I drank every drop of every bottle they poured. The reds are IMO, the best in the area.
We've been members for years and I've never had anyone not love the bottles we've shared.

We have been to this winery three...
We have been to this winery three times and always came back with an ah, ha moment.
It is a phenomenal wine yard, grown and developed by someone who started this winery as his hobby.
Today, his wine was recognized by WSJ, Lettie Tieg. Thanks to her passion to sort our the best from the rest!

The grounds are excellent, the staff conduct a wonderful tour of the facility, and the wines are very good. Lancaster clearly wants to compete against the best that Napa and Sonoma have to offer in terms of cabernet sauvignon and red blends, and they are making wines that will get them there (if they aren't there already).

We love this winery - great wines,...
We love this winery - great wines, beautiful location, friendly/knowledgeable owners & staff. As former red wine only drinkers, we have been converted by their amazing whites and enjoy them with friends (who are equally impressed!). Did I mention we also love their reds and visiting the cave?
Every trip to Sonoma from here in Silicon Valley includes a stop at J. Rickards. There are VERY few wineries where we enjoy 100% of the available wines. This is one of them.
