Upon arrival, the enticing aroma of freshly roasted cocoa beans greets you in this quiet market town, famous for being home to the best Catalan chocolate maker and the heart of Cava production.

A short 10-minute walk leads to an artisan Cava maker with over 150 years of history. This family-run winery focuses on crafting premium organic Cava. Descend into the cellars where bottles rest, and learn about the history and techniques of sparkling wine production. Upstairs, observe the disgorging and labeling process before enjoying various vintages in a serene courtyard, learning about the different types of Cava.

After exploring the village’s narrow streets, the journey continues to a chocolate factory with a 175-year tradition. Indulge in a sensory experience, discovering the history and culture of cocoa and sampling a variety of chocolate specialties.

Outstanding experience
We spent an eventful day just outside Barcelona together with our tour guide Michael. After a relaxing train ride and a short walk to the small winery, Michael competently and thoroughly explained the Cava production process to us and led us through the winery. This was concluded by tasting a few varieties of Cava. Afterwards, we enjoyed an excellent lunch. The day ended with a visit to the chocolate factory and the return trip to Barcelona. No question was too much trouble for our guide Michael; he was always friendly and competent. Christian also provided us with valuable information about the daily schedule even before the day trip. We can highly recommend both. Anyone who, like us, wants to enjoy an individual wine tour just outside Barcelona should definitely book this.
