Olive Oil Tasting with Local Cheese & Wine at Mezzo Ettaro in Valpolicella

Your experience at Mezzo Ettaro, a small family-run farm in the Valpolicella countryside, begins with a personal welcome from your hosts, Giorgio and Leonardo.

They will guide you on an educational walk through the estate’s terraced garden, vineyards, and centuries-old olive groves. As you walk, Giorgio and Leonardo will share the history of their farm and explain their approach to cultivating the vines and olive trees. Depending on the season, they may also use photos and videos to show the agricultural work that happens at other times of the year.

After the walk, you'll settle into one of the dedicated tasting rooms overlooking the garden. Here, you will take part in a guided tasting of the estate's extra virgin olive oil, served with artisanal bread and local cheeses from Veneto. Giorgio and Leonardo will teach you how to recognize the aromas, flavors, and characteristics of a quality olive oil. The tasting is complemented by a glass of their rosé wine, either the "Impulsivo" Frizzante or the "Contatto Fugace" Rosato IGT, depending on availability.

The family cultivates their own grapes, which are then vinified at a trusted local winery. The finished wines return to the estate to age in a temperature-controlled room you can visit. Similarly, the olives are harvested and selected by hand before being sent to a chosen mill for pressing.

This experience is designed to be welcoming for families. Children can enjoy the food pairings with water or fruit juice, and coloring activities are available to keep them entertained. To conclude your visit, you will receive a small bag of dried aromatic lavender, a fragrant reminder of your time in Valpolicella.
