I recently had a luncheon for my birthday in the private dining room at De Bortoli Restaurant. I cannot give enough praise to the staff, the food etc. - our server - Amy - was excellent and Tony, the restaurant manager, made sure that everything ran smoothly. My questions regarding the menu etc. prior to the day were efficiently handled and all queries were answered promptly. I would highly recommend this restaurant for a function.

We had a wonderful experience for lunch...
We had a wonderful experience for lunch here, it was our first time. The food was absolutely delicious and mouthwatering. Filled with amazing flavors!! Will come here again. A thank you to Elise for looking after us and a great afternoon.

I visited as part of a group...
I visited as part of a group tour and the man pouring for us was lovely but was pouring wildly inconsistent pours, he would start out with our side of the group just pouring a dribble, barely enough to have two sips, and a third of a glass of wine to the people on the other end! Additionally, a woman whom I presume was the manager berated her employees in front of the group and other customers for opening up too many bottles. It was incredibly unprofessional.

Breath taking views and relaxing location. This...
Breath taking views and relaxing location. This restaurant offers sensational food and wine. Enjoyed the food and desserts, one of the best ever. Staff were vert friendly although they do need to take notice of customers ready to order, etc as they we were trying to get there attention a couple of times.

Posto bellissimo, una ristorante con annessa cantina immerso nelle vigne dove cresce la loro uva.
Personale molto gentile e disponibile, ristorante di medio-alto livello.
Pietanze elaborate, non a tutti possono piacere, ma ho trovato degli ottimi abbinamenti.
Non preoccupatevi se non capite esattamente tutti gli ingredienti dei piatti: anche gli australiani hanno difficoltà!
Location incantevole, specialmente in estate con le vigne verdi e rigogliose.
Prezzo 80$ per antipasto, una portata e dolce.
Consiglio se siete nei paraggi o se vi piace il vino.

Montalto is resting on its laurels. Great setting, beautiful food but the service and level of enthusiasm at the cellar door leaves a lot to be desired. Maybe selling wine is not as profitable as food service but I would have assumed it was the essence of a good winery.

This one is really good vineyard for...
This one is really good vineyard for the food as well as tasting the wines. We ordered wine from each categories. You can really taste the difference between all the wines. Also pizza was great. Really enjoyed the place. Great ambience and the staff. Additionally you get to see the awesome view from the outside. Nice place to take pics.
Also can go for a walk after the food .. good places around with proper guidelines. Few good spots for the photographers.

Outdoor surroundings of premises were nice... quality and presentation of food incredibly poor.... customer service was ok... price of food at $620 for 4 people one bottle of wine quite overpriced considering the ridiculously small servings of average tasting food... duck was extremely raw and undercooked will not be returning and would not(!!!) recommend especially at those prices.... a lot better quality and presentation in any of Melbourne's inner city restaurants.
