Cheese Tour with Gourmet Lunch at Carozzi Formaggi in Valsassina
Here is what's in store for you
A member of the Carozzi team will welcome you to their dairy in Valsassina for a tour of the facility. For about an hour, you will learn about the valley's cheesemaking traditions and see the production techniques behind the dairy's distinctive cheeses.
After the tour, you will take a seat in the on-site bistrot for a complete gourmet lunch. The meal starts with a selection of fresh and aged cheeses made from cow's, goat's, and buffalo's milk, served with compotes. This is followed by a traditional hot dish from the kitchen, such as Pizzoccheri or polenta.
Your lunch is paired with a bottle of Sassella red wine from the nearby Valtellina region for every two people. Water and coffee are also included.
