Amarone Tasting with Local Cheese and Cured Meats at Capurso in Valpantena
Here is what's in store for you
In Valpantena, a short drive from Verona, Giovanni, Camilla, and Selene welcome you to Capurso, their family winery. They carry on a local winemaking tradition that began in 1896, with a focus on the vineyards and wines that define their territory. The experience begins with a walk through the vineyards, where you'll learn about the family's approach to viticulture.
You will then visit the winery to see where the winemaking process takes place. The tour is led personally by one of the owners, offering a direct look into their history and philosophy. The visit concludes with a guided tasting of three of their representative wines: a Valpolicella DOC Superiore, an Amarone della Valpolicella DOCG, and the Diavolo Rosso IGT.
The selection focuses on mature vintages to showcase different expressions of their production. The wines are paired with local Soppressa and Monte Veronese cheese from a family-run farm in Lessinia. For children and anyone not drinking wine, soft drinks are provided. Depending on the season, the tasting is held on the outdoor patio, in the air-conditioned wine shop, or in a dedicated room in the building's historic drying loft.
