Corte Madonnina
(Cantina in Ferrara)
The Azienda Agricola Corte Madonnina is a historic farm that has produced for over 60 years the DOC wines of Bosco Eliceo by its own vineyards.
Particular care is applied in the cultivation of the vine, organic fertilization, pruning, cluster thinning and irrigation management, all agronomic practices aimed at obtaining quality grapes.
The winery is equipped with modern technologies for the control of temperature and oxygen at all stages of production, from fermentation of the grapes, the aging of the wines, the bottling phase, until the management of the bottles in stock.
We are a small winery and our 6 hectares of vineyards produce about 50,000 bottles, a limited production that allows us a continuous research of product’s quality.
In producing the wines of the sands our winery is deeply rooted in the territory and enhances a wine tradition which is actually centuries old, even if it’s little known.
Azienda Agricola Mirco Mariotti
(Cantina in Ferrara)
Our story begins in Argenta, a small town located in northern Italy in the Province of Ferrara (Emilia-Romagna), in 1976 when Giorgio Mariotti established a wine analysis and consultation laboratory called 'La Bottega del Vino'. Through his work, he became aware of the uniqueness of the wines produced on the local sandy soils of the ungrafted vineyards of Bosco Eliceo (Eliceo forest) and he was also one of the promoters of the DOC label (Controlled Designation of Origin), obtained in 1989.
Since 1998 Mariotti has also begun to carry out the vinification of grapes from particularly suitable vineyards, including 'Fondo Luogaccio' vineyard in San Giuseppe di Comacchio, which represents the typical native area of Fortana grape, locally known as Golden Grape (Uva d'Oro).
To date, 'Fondo Luogaccio' vineyard, located within the protected Natura 2000 Site called 'Duna di San Giuseppe', it has been designated as an historic vineyard by the Emilia Romagna Region with the name of 'Duna della Puia', the ancient toponym of this area.
In 2009, the agronomic management of the family business was given to Giorgio’s daughter, Barbara, and to his son Mirco, who studied Enology at the University of the Sacred Heart in Piacenza.Consorzio Vini DOC Bosco Eliceo
Our aim is to produce local wines according to the Emilian tradition, paying particular attention to the ancestral 'secondary fermentation in the bottle', that gives sparkling wines a depth and an evolution ability that are difficult to reach with other production techniques.
Another important project arises from our passion for wines, 'Terroir Ferrara', whose mission is to promote the local wine-growing sector, products and traditions.
