Cantina e Vini

An old written parment dating back since 416 AD, describes the existence of a beautiful gallo-romaine villa. It was destroyed during the French Revolution ; then the current Chateau Auzias was build early 19th century under the Napoleon Bonaparte Empire.

Since 1872 Léon and Emile Auzias developed an important wine sales distribution from the Languedoc to the East of France, and created the brand name and labels still used today by the estate.

In 1926, Eugène Auzias as a visionary, was the first winemaker to plant Atlantic grape varieties in Languedoc (Cabernet Franc, Malbec, Merlot, and Cabernet Sauvignon).  Today AOP Cabardès appellation, includes by law a minimum of 40% of Atlantic grapes in blends.

For now more than 20 years, this family estate is running by Dominique Auzias. Dominique is the famous founder of the Petit Futé Guides, the worldwide leader of travel books. Since he started to manage the family estate after 4 generations, he improved quality and distribution. Chateau Auzias is now distributed in more than 30 countries.

The Cabardès terroir benefits from an exceptional micro-climate  influenced by Western and Eastern wind.

It is the only terroir of France which allows optimal conditions for the culture of both Atlantic, and Mediterranean grape varieties.

As a result Chateau Auzias produces incomparable wines which combines the richness of the Languedoc with the finesse of Bordeaux wines.
