Here is what's in store for you
Depart Barcelona early in the morning to make the most of your day in Priorat.
Priorat is a distinguished wine region in Catalonia, Spain, known for its exceptional red wines. Its steep vineyards, slate soils and Mediterranean climate create optimal conditions for the cultivation of high-quality red grapes, especially Grenache and Carignan. The region has a rich winemaking tradition dating back to the Middle Ages and is renowned for the quality and complexity of its wines.
We will start the day in the village of Gratallops, in the heart of Priorat. Here Spain’s most expensive wine, l’Hermita, was born. We will visit one of our favourite wineries, such as Clos Mogador or Celler Devinsi or Buil & Gine. Here we will do a small wine tasting from the Bodega itself
Next we will visit the Olive Oil Mill in Cabacés, where we will have the opportunity to learn more about this precious product. The indigenous olive varieties grown are Arbequina, Farga, Morrut and Rojal. Each variety contributes a unique flavor profile to the olive oil.
At the mill, you will be able to observe the complete production process, including olive harvesting, milling, extraction and filtration. You will learn how the highest quality extra virgin olive oil is obtained.
We will also be offered an Olive Oil tasting of different varieties of extra virgin olive oil produced in the region. You will discover the nuances of flavor and aroma that make these oils so special.
To finish our day, we will enjoy a delicious lunch at a local restaurant in Priorat. Many restaurants offer traditional Catalan dishes that pair perfectly with the wines of the region.
After a day full of activities, we will begin the return trip to Barcelona. Take the opportunity to enjoy the scenery as you drive back or use the time on the tour to relax.
